We browse the early MLB odds board in search of betting value on Thursday's games. Read on and find two selections to maximize your profits before the NFL Hall of Fame game.

Diamondbacks vs. Cubs

Right-hander Zack Greinke (13-4, 2.84 ERA, 1.00 WHIP) takes the hill for the Diamondbacks, having won his last five decisions, including his last two starts. Greinke gave up one earned run on four hits and a walk with nine strikeouts over seven innings of a 7-1 win over the Cardinals last Saturday, giving him  quality starts in four of his last five outings and he ranks second in the National League with 13 wins, third with a 1.00 WHIP, fourth with a 2.84 ERA and seventh with 149 strikeouts.

Jose Quintana (6-9, 4.16 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) will get the ball for the Cubs after suffering a tough 2-1 loss against the Brewers last Friday, when he allowed just two earned runs on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts in six innings. Quintana has three quality starts in as many outings with the Cubs, going 2-1 with a 2.37 ERA and an 0.89 WHIP. I'm looking at Under at MLB odds TBD as Greinke and Quintana are on stellar form. The total might be low once it is set but that doesn't mean that it isn't the best play here.

Yankees vs. Indians

Sonny Gray (6-5, 3.43 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) will make his first start for the Yankees, who acquired him on Monday for three prospects, outfielder Dustin Fowler, infielder/outfielder Jorge Mateo and right-hander James Kaprielian. Gray will take the hill on eight days' rest and he's been lights out over his last six starts, posting a 1.37 ERA and an 0.81 WHIP in 39 1/3 innings.

Danny Salazar (4-5, 4.63 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) will make his 15th appearance (13th start) for the Indians after dominating the White Sox on Friday, when he allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in six innings of a 9-3 win. Salazar is 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA and an 8.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio (K/BB) in 13 innings over his last two starts but he's just 1-3 with a 3.82 ERA in six home appearances (five starts). Look for Sonny Gray to maintain his recent form and have a successful Yankees debut. I'm taking New York +119 with my MLB picks.
