Two high-scoring offenses clash in New York while one resurging ace takes the hill in Milwaukee, creating betting opportunities with value on Saturday. Read on as our handicapper shares his MLB picks of the day.

Athletics vs. Yankees

The Yankees have played very well this season, exceeding expectations with a group of young, talented and hungry players and they currently lead the American League East while the Athletics are at the bottom of the American League West.

Jharel Cotton will start for the Athletics, taking Sean Manaea's spot in the rotation because Manaea was moved up to start Friday's game in place of Kendall Graveman. Cotton began the year in the starting rotation but he lost his spot after posting a terrible 5.68 ERA over seven starts. The right-hander got back on track, posting a 2.25 ERA over two starts with Triple-A Nashville but it's hard to expect him to silence New York's powerful offense.

The Yankees will turn to CC Sabathia, who has won his last two starts, giving up just two runs (one earned) over 11 2/3 innings. Sabathia is now 4-2 on the season but he has posted a high 4.62 ERA in nine starts and he has an abysmal 7.41 ERA in three home starts, so I'm taking 'Over' 9.5 at +105 MLB odds here.

Diamondbacks vs. Brewers

The Diamondbacks are playing their best baseball of the season and they're fighting with the Rockies for first place in the National League West, which is something that no one expected from them this year while the Brewers are in the middle of a tough stretch but they're still near the top of the National League Central standings.

Zack Greinke will take the hill for Arizona. He has won his last five decisions after coming within an out of a complete game against the White Sox last Monday, when he allowed one run on four hits and a walk with a season-high 12 strikeouts. Greinke has a career-best 6.50 strikeout-to-walk ratio (K/BB) and he ranks second in the National League with six wins, third with an 0.97 WHIP, fourth with a 2.82 ERA and fourth with 67 innings pitched.

The Brewers will give the ball to Chase Anderson, who's winless in his last six starts while seeing his ERA go from 1.50 to 4.25. Anderson gave up six earned runs on seven hits (three home runs) in just four innings against the Cubs last Sunday and don't expect him to bounce back against a red-hot Diamondbacks team and Greinke, one of the best pitchers in the majors this season. I will add the Diamondbacks to my MLB picks.
