We browse the early odds board in search of betting value on Saturday's slate. Read on and find two MLB picks to maximize your profits before UFC 214.

Mets vs. Mariners

Right-hander Jacob deGrom (12-3, 3.30 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) takes the hill for the Mets after earning his eight straight win last Monday, when he gave up two earned runs on five hits (one home run) and two walks with eight strikeouts in eight innings of a 5-3 victory against the Padres. deGrom has allowed one earned run or less and thrown at least seven innings in seven of his last eight starts to lower his ERA to 3.30 and he ranks second in the National League with 12 wins, third with 152 strikeouts and sixth with 133 2/3 innings pitched and a 1.16 WHIP.

Yovani Gallardo (4-7, 5.58 ERA, 1.49 WHIP) will get the ball for the Mariners after getting a no-decision against the Yankees last Sunday, when he allowed three earned runs on five hits (three home runs) with three walks and five strikeouts in five innings of a 6-4 loss. Gallardo is just 1-3 with a 6.02 ERA and one save in 11 home appearances (eight starts). I'm taking the Mets on the road at -140 MLB odds.

Cubs vs. Brewers

Kyle Hendricks (4-3, 3.95 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) will make his second start for the Cubs since June 4 (he was on the disabled list since June 5 with tendinitis in his right hand). Hendricks allowed one earned run on eight hits with no walks and five strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings to get a no-decision in a 3-1 loss against the White Sox last Monday. The current Brewers lineup is hitting just .161 against Hendricks, with Ryan Braun going just 2-for-14 with five strikeouts.

Junior Guerra (1-4, 5.22 ERA, 1.53 WHIP) will make his 13th start of the season, looking for his first win since May 31. Guerra allowed five earned runs on five hits (one home run) with three walks and three strikeouts over just four innings of a 6-3 loss against Phillies last Sunday and he's 0-3 with a 9.00 ERA over his last five starts. I'm backing Hendricks and the Cubs -158 with my MLB picks.
