We browse the early MLB odds board in search of betting value on Friday's card. Read on and find two picks that will maximize your profits at the start of the weekend.

Rays vs. Red Sox

Right-hander Chris Archer (9-8, 3.76 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) takes the hill for the Rays after leaving Saturday's game against the Chicago White Sox with a forearm injury. He pitched to two batters in the 1st inning and gave up two solo home runs and it was said he was dealing with lateral forearm tightness but there was no structural damage. Archer is 1-0 with a 2.92 ERA in two starts against the Red Sox and their current lineup is hitting just .257 against him.

Drew Pomeranz (14-5, 3.36 ERA, 1.38 WHIP) starts for the Red Sox, coming off a tough outing against the Yankees on Saturday, when he allowed four earned runs on eight hits (two home runs) with two walks and five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings of  a 5-1 loss. Pomeranz was 4-0 with a 2.28 ERA in five starts before the game against the Yankees and he should bounce back here. I'm looking at Under 8.5 at -115 MLB odds here.

Angels vs. Mariners

Ricky Nolasco (6-12, 5.08 ERA, 1.45 WHIP) will start for the Angels after giving up three earned runs on five hits (one home run) with three walks and six strikeouts 5 2/3 innings to get a no-decision in a 7-4 win against the Rangers.

Nolasco has a 4.07 ERA in four starts against the Mariners. Nelson Cruz is 11-for-25 against him with three doubles, four home runs and seven RBI while Robinson Cano is 8-for-24 with two doubles, three home runs and four RBI.

Mike Leake (8-12, 4.14 ERA, 1.32 WHIP) will make his second start for the Mariners. Leake was dominant in his debut against the Athletics last Friday, when he allowed two earned runs on eight hits with one walk and seven strikeouts in seven innings of a 3-2 win. I'm backing Leake and the Mariners -119 with my MLB picks here as the change of scenery continues to put his career on the right track.
