Once again we attack MLB odds with our top Total Picks of the Day article with one priority in mind, and that’s winning! Here are the best bets for Cincinnati/Arizona & Philadelphia/San Diego.
Reds (DeScalfini) vs. Diamondbacks (Corbin) 4:10 PM ET
Anthony DeScalfini has pitched very well in eleven road starts this year. During those outings he posted a stellar 2.41 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. The Reds hurler has also displayed good form during his previous three starts overall, compiling a 2.25 ERA and 1.10 WHIP during that stretch. Cincinnati has gone 7-0 under the total during their previous seven games, averaging a miniscule 2.0 runs per game, and possessed a dismal team batting average of only .198. They’ve also had terrific pitching during those previous seven as well, allowing just 2.6 runs per game, and held their opponents to a paltry team batting average of .179.
Pat Corbin has been superb in three home starts in 2015. During those outings he posted a sparkling 2.65 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and had a 9:1 strikeout to walk ratio.
MLB Picks: Play on Arizona under 8.5
Phillies (Williams) vs. Padres (Cashner) 4:10 PM ET
Jerome Williams has been brutal in his nine starts on the road this year. He posted a mammoth 8.01 ERA and 1.90 WHIP during those outings. His overall numbers also leave a lot to be desired. The veteran right-hander has a large 6.09 ERA and 1.71 WHIP during seventeen starts in 2015. The Phillies have averaged an impressive 6.0 runs per game over their previous eight contests.
Andrew Cashner has gone 7-1 over the total in eight day game starts with a lofty 5.40 ERA this year. The Padres are 10-1 over the total in their previous eleven games, and are 21-11-1 over during day games in 2015.
This has all the earmarks of a high scoring game, and one my MLB picks today will reflect that sentiment. According to the MLB odds at Pinnacle, they provide the most favorable money line price for this total.
