A lot of talented pitchers will be taking the mound this Tuesday in the MLB. Could this possibly mean that we see a lot of under the totals when making our MLB Picks of the Day?

Los Angeles Dodgers (14-12) vs. Minnesota Twins (12-11)
Good Spot for L.A.
Although the Dodgers record should be somewhat better for the lineup that they put on the field, tonight is a good spot for them as they send their ace, Zack Greinke (4-0, 2.45), to the mound and this is a team that has excelled on the road going 8-3.

That said, the Minnesota Twins have had an above average season with some up and comers in Trevor Plouffe, Chris Colabello, and Jason Kubel and if Greinke is off, the Twins will capitalize.

The Great Greinke
This is a pitcher that’s been around for a long time. Greinke was an average pitcher for most of his career, but in the last few seasons, he’s turned it up a notch, becoming one of the best pitchers in the National League.

In his last 6 seasons, Greinke has recorded a collective record of 65-20. You add in the the offensive support that he gets with Yasiel Puig, Adrian Gonzalez, and Hanley Ramirez, and this is a team that should be competing for a World Series title.

Minnesota is a team with great offensive depth, but starting pitcher Kyle Gibson got shelled in his last outing, allowing 7 runs and 10 hits in 3 innings of work against Tampa Bay. Look for a Dodgers victory tonight for our MLB picks.

MLB Pick: Dodgers – 150 at 5 Dimes

Seattle Mariners (10-14) vs. New York Yankees (15-10)
Will Cano Get Booed?
New York fans are very critical of opposing players and even though Robinson Cano provided the Yankees many good years of service, he left the Bombers at the drop of a dime for more money in Seattle and this was unexpected.

Former Yankees teammates will still welcome Cano, but overall the welcome mat won’t be left out for Robbie and this is like a revenge scenario for the Yankees.

A Bang For their Buck?
Since joining Seattle, Cano has a respectable season at 1 HR, 11 RBI, and a .301 BA, but has surely lacked power. Is it possible that Robbie comes out of his shell with the short porch in right field in Yankee Stadium? Expect Cano to play well. He’s hitting a much improved .409 over the last week as he’ll be facing his friend and former teammate, C.C. Sabathia (3-2, 4.78).

Sabathia has pitched much better in his last 2 outings, going 2-0 while allowing 3 earned runs in 13 innings of work.

Seager Bombs
One slight concern for New York has been the recent play of Kyle Seager. Seager had 2 home runs on Sunday, one of them a 3-run home run against Texas in the 8th inning of Sunday’s game to give the Mariners a 6-5 victory. Seager currently has 5 home runs and 13 runs batted in on the season.

The Yankees have extra motivation to win this game and Sabathia has looked good as of late. Bet the Yanks and the runline in this spot.

MLB Pick: Yankees -1.5 +110 at 5 Dimes

Good luck, everyone!
