We browse the early odds board in search of MLB betting value on Friday's card. Read on and find two selections that will maximize your profits at the start of the weekend.

Yankees vs. Blue Jays

Right-hander Masahiro Tanaka (12-11, 4.73 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) takes the hill for the Yankees after beating the Orioles last Thursday, when he gave up two earned runs on eight hits (two home runs) and two walks with eight strikeouts in seven innings of a 13-5 win. Tanaka has a 5.00 ERA over his last three starts but that's mostly because he gave up seven earned runs in four innings at Texas on September 8 and he's 2-0 with a 3.63 ERA in three starts against the Blue Jays this season.

Marco Estrada (9-8, 4.84 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) starts for the Blue Jays, looking for his third straight win. Estrada allowed two earned runs on three hits (two home runs) with one walk and four strikeouts in eight innings of a 7-2 victory against the Twins last Saturday but he has a 5.64 ERA in three starts against the Yankees. I'm looking at Under 9 at -110 MLB odds because of the high total.

Free MLB Pick: Under 9 (-110)

Giants vs. Dodgers

Jeff Samardzija (9-14, 4.42 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) will start for the Giants, trying to avoid his third straight loss. Samardzija gave up three earned runs on six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts in eight innings of a 3-2 loss against the Diamondbacks last Friday. It was Samardzija's eighth quality start in his last 10 outings and he's posted a decent 3.26 ERA with 1.03 WHIP and a 4.21 strikeout-to-walk ratio (K:BB) in 69 innings over that stretch.

Rich Hill (10-8, 3.60 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) will make his 24th start for the Dodgers after ending his four-game losing streak with a solid effort against the Nationals last Saturday, when he allowed one earned run on one hit (one home run) with two walks and seven strikeouts in five innings of a 3-2 win. Hill has dominated the Giants this season, going 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA in two starts against them. The Dodgers are struggling right now but I can't back the Giants here. I'm taking the Dodgers -1.5 (+100) with my MLB picks.
