When thinking about the title for this article, I obviously still had thoughts of the Yankees and Tigers melee the other day, which brought thoughts of yesteryear when these actions were part of baseball.

No question I would never like to see anyone get hurt in such an event, like Mike Morse earlier this, nevertheless, it happens, what can you do. What you can do is what I'm doing, attempting to keep making solid MLB picks here on totals and improve on 25-18 record and take more of the sportsbooks money.

AL East B's Go to Battle

Baltimore and Boston are ready for the middle game of their series. The Red Sox renaissance has been built on improved offense and pitching and it is why they are in first place and have the second-best record in the AL. The last two days the pitching has been blistered for 29 total runs, 16 of those coming off Orioles bats yesterday. Eduardo Rodriguez (4.01 ERA) of Boston will try and change the BoSox luck and he's either been good or awful versus the O's. Kevin Gausman (5.25) recently had six starts with a ERA under 2.00 and in last outing reverted to old ways with four walks and four home runs allowed. I rarely go against the numbers and while I could make a strong case for the Under, going with a hunch and taking OVER 9.5.

NL West Showdown Leads to More Beer Runs

In San Francisco's past five games they are 5-0 UNDER and Arizona is right behind them at 4-1 UNDER. Madison Bumgarner (2.87) has shown no ill effects from should injury when mountain biking and in his last half dozen starts has a 2.13 ERA. Mad Bum's problem is his teammates, who have left him to fend for himself mostly, scoring three runs or less in nine of his 12 starts this season. This could be a benefit for the Diamondbacks Taijuan Walker (3.66). With the MLB odds showing a total of 9, the Giants are 12-3 UNDER in road games after scoring and allowing five runs or less last in four consecutive contests, which leaves patrons ample time to hit the concession stands without missing action.

Astros and Angels in Low Scoring Affair

Since posting nine runs in back to back games against Arizona, Houston's offense has gotten chilly again. Prior to that outburst, the Astros had tallied 1.8 runs over seven games and they are at 2.8 in their last eight tries. The Anaheim offense has not been good all year and while like every team has their moments, the Angels are next to last in the AL in scoring at 4.3 RPG. With the total set at 8.5, Houston starter Brad Peacock is 11-1 UNDER on the road when the total is 8 to 8.5 and the Halos are 9-0 UNDER after three or more consecutive losses this season.
