Thursday's MLB Overnight Lines Betting Preview Brings Three Winners

Don't miss this MLB Overnight Betting Lines overview for the games taking place on Thursday, June 16, and stay ahead of the chalk to maximize your profits.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Milwaukee is not a good team by any stretch but there is still legitimate betting value to support them as underdogs here with a solid pitching prospect in Junior Guerra on the mound for them here against the LA Dodgers. Guerra has allowed 3 runs or less in five of his last six starts and Milwaukee has gone 6-2 in his 8 starts since he joined the rotation including a perfect 3-0 record in Guerra’s road starts.

The LA Dodgers lineup has been scuffling for the better part of the last week or so scoring 3 runs or less in 5 of their last 8 games and I think Guerra has the opportunity to give his team a chance to win with a solid outing here. On the flip side, Scott Kazmir is on the mound for the Dodgers and he has been better of late but is coming off an outing against San Francisco in which control and command was a problem as he allowed 5 walks in as many innings.

LA is just 6-7 in Kazmir’s 13 starts this season having a tough time winning games with the veteran lefty on the mound. I think this is a solid underdog price on the MLB Odds with the Milwaukee Brewers bringing enough to the table here to warrant supporting them.

Washington Nationals vs. San Diego Padres
Washington should have a significant edge here with Tanner Roark against Erik Johnson in this pitching matchup. Roark rebounded from a rare rough outing against Cincinnati to shut out the Philadelphia Phillies in 7 innings. Roark has made two starts against San Diego and dominated them both times shutting them out twice in a span of 17 innings while allowing just 6 hits combined in those two starts with 1 walk and 19 strikeouts. I expect him to pitch well again here against the Padres.

Erik Johnson made his Padres debut in his last start in Colorado at Coors Field which was a horrible choice to have him make his first start with San Diego. He was promptly hit hard for 5 runs on 9 hits and lasted just 4.2 innings and continues to have trouble showing that he is a Major League caliber arm much like he did during his tenure with the Chicago White Sox prior to the James Shields trade which is what landed him here in San Diego. The Washington lineup has been in good form for the last several games scoring 4+ runs in 7 of their last 10 games.

Washington took three of four games at Petco Park against San Diego last season and all three games they won here were victories by 3 runs or more. They shutout San Diego 6-0 in Tanner Roark’s previous outing against the Padres here at Petco Park back in 2014 and I think they have the chance to duplicate that success. I will recommend an MLB Pick on Washington on the run line -1.5 runs at a solid plus price and would also consider the Nationals Team Team Over once the team totals markets become widely available.
