In addition to all of the World Cup games and Wimbledon, we've got another decently sized slate of MLB baseball on the schedule throughout the day. Let us help guide you in the right direction with your sports picks for Thursday.

Detroit Tigers (Porcello) vs. Texas Rangers (Martinez)
Covered by Willie Bee and Jeff Grant
With the winning streak now at six games, you better believe Rick Porcello and the Tigers will be fired up to keep the good times rolling.

Porcello (9-4, 3.76 ERA) has looked very strong at times this season and will lead out Detroit as the MLB betting favorites. Our very own Wilie likes the Tigers to get their seventh straight, while Jeff is on the lookout for a high-scoring affair.

MLB Pick: Willie: Tigers -130 // Jeff: OVER 9.5

New York Mets (Matsuzaka) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (Worley)
Covered by Willie Bee
The Pirates would love to get a quality start out of Vance Worley tonight. He's looked pretty darn good in his first two starts this season, so Pittsburgh being favored at a high price of -150 or so is no big surprise.

Daisuke Matsuzaka (3-1, 2.68 ERA) has been good for New York too, but tonight Willie thinks the OVER is the best way to go. Will the two offenses show up?

MLB Pick: OVER 8

St. Louis Cardinals (Wainwright) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (Beckett)
Covered by Ron Patrick
A great game here featuring two right-handers that are slinging the ball very well. Adam Wainwright has been stellar as usual for St. Louis, while Josh Beckett is in the midst of one of his better seasons of his career.

Beckett owns an amazing 2.28 ERA on the year, but how often do you get to back Wainwright (10-3, 2.08 ERA) and the Cardinals at this kind of price? Ron is backing St. Louis.

MLB Pick: Cardinals -105

Cincinnati Reds (Leake) vs. San Francisco Giants (Vogelsong)
Covered by Ron Patrick
The Giants finally snapped out of their funk yesterday and it came in incredible fashion. Tim Lincecum pitched his second no-hitter of his career in a 4-0 win over San Diego.

Now San Francisco welcomes Cincinnati, with Ryan Vogelsong and Mike Leake slated to start. Both guys have been solid this season, but at the end of the day Ron is appreciating the low price on the Giants at home, where they're 24-17.

MLB Pick: Giants -115

Miami Marlins (Koehler) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (Hamels)
Covered by Jeff Grant
At this point, it's anyone's guess what will happen in the NL East. Only six games separate first place from fifth, so both Philadelphia and Miami are hopeful.

The Phillies have to be loving their chances of a win tonight, as they're at home and will have Cole Hamels on the bump. Hamels has been terrific, recording a 2.76 ERA so far in 2014, but he could stand to use some run support here. With his MLB pick recommendations, Jeff is going with Philadelphia.

MLB Pick: Phillies -150

Washington Nationals (Fister) vs. Chicago Cubs (Wood)
Covered by Jeff Grant
The Nationals may have the better overall record, but they've been far from convincing when out on the road. The Cubs have been playing near .500 baseball at Wrigley Field this year and Travis Wood has had his moments of dominance despite his shaky total numbers.

For tonight though, Jeff foresees Washington grabbing the road win behind Doug Fister, who's been very impressive (6-2, 2.65 ERA) for the division leaders.

MLB Pick: Nationals -125
