It's a lighter schedule today and we're therefore going to focus extensively on just four games in our daily MLB odds report. Our cappers have released their top sports picks of the day and are hoping to beat the books with their recommendations.

Los Angeles Angels (Skaggs) vs. Baltimore Orioles (Norris)
Covered by Ron Patrick and Jeff Grant
The Orioles have been up the challenge so far in this series, winning each of the first two games. Kevin Gausman was excellent in last night's win, but now it's Bud Norris' turn to see if he can shut down the Angels.

LA, an even 5-5 over their last 10 games, will trot out Tyler Skaggs, who's 5-5 with a 4.49 ERA this season. He was pretty solid in his latest start though, allowing only one run over 5 and 2/3 innings against Detroit.

Regardless, both Ron and Jeff believe Baltimore will get the job done tonight and complete the sweep. The fact the Orioles are available at even money is even sweeter.
Free MLB Picks: Ron: Orioles +100 // Jeff: Orioles +100

Atlanta Braves (Teheran) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (Kershaw)
Covered by Willie Bee and Ross Benjamin
There's no better pitcher than Clayton Kershaw in baseball and he'll aim to prove why once again at home to the Braves. Current MLB betting lines have the Dodgers as clear-cut favorites.

Kershaw is 12-2 with a 1.76 ERA on the year and is seemingly getting more and more dominant with each passing start. Atlanta, though, has their own stud in Julio Teheran (10-6, 2.71 ERA) pitching this evening, so it'll be interesting to see if the hitters on either side have any luck.

We once again have agreement between our handicappers when it comes to their preferred sports picks. Willie and Ross each like LA on the run-line, though Willie was able to find a slightly better price at the sportsbooks.
Free MLB Picks: Willie: Dodgers -1.5 (+120) // Ross: Dodgers -1.5 (+115)

Philadelphia Phillies (Lee) vs. Washington Nationals (Gonzalez)
Covered by Ron Patrick and Jeff Grant
On the opposite ends of the spectrum in the NL East, the Nationals and Phillies go at it again tonight, with Gio Gonzalez and Cliff Lee installed as the two starting pitchers.

Gonzalez has been the better of the two (but not by much) this season, going 6-6 with a 3.56 ERA, with Lee at 4-5 with a 3.78 ERA. However, the Nationals' hurler is coming off a terrific start (7.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 8 K) his last time on the mound and can at least be confident in his future, while Lee has been struggling and constantly involved in trade rumors.

It appears our handicappers have been chatting, as again they're on the same page. Ron will be on Washington to win by two or more runs, while Jeff will be playing it a little safer by taking them strictly on the money-line.
Free MLB Picks: Ron: Nationals -1.5 (+145) // Jeff: Nationals -160

Pittsburgh Pirates (Locke) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (Collmenter)
Covered by Joe Catalano
The Pirates were unable to finish off their series in San Francisco on a positive note and now they head to Arizona, where they'll take on Josh Collmenter and the Diamondbacks in the opener.

Collmenter is 8-5 with a 4.03 ERA thus far in 2014, with his earned run average jumping in a big way after a horrific start five days ago. He allowed 11 hits and six earned runs over 2 and 2/3 innings in Philadelphia. Jeff Locke (2-2, 3.54 ERA) will be on the bump for Pittsburgh and he also struggled his last time on the mound, surrendering 10 hits and six runs.

It's tough to trust either one of these pitchers, but ultimately Joe thinks Pittsburgh is the right play. They've proven to be the better overall team this season.
Free MLB Pick: Pirates -113
