Our expert capper takes a look into Sunday's Main Event of the MLB odds as Mets and Giants battle it oput in a high profile game. Read on to get his insight on betting angles and his pick.

ESPN Sunday Night Baseball
The Mets and Giants will square off on this week’s Sunday night ESPN nationally televised game. The opening pitch at AT&T Park in San Francisco is slated for 8:05 PM ET.

Tonight will be the finale of a four-game series. San Francisco won the first two by scores of 10-7 on Thursday, and followed it up with Friday’s 8-1 blowout. The Mets bounced back on Saturday afternoon by coming out on top 9-5. Sunday will be the seventh meeting of the season between these National League clubs. Those preceding six games all went over the total, and each team won three times apiece.

Starting Pitchers
The Mets will go with right-hander Noah Syndergaard on the mound this evening. Syndergaard has an exceptional 2.78 ERA during 23 starts this year. Nevertheless, he’s been far from his dominating self over his previous seven starts, proven by his lofty 1.56 WHIP through that course of time. Syndergaard has made two career starts against San Francisco with both occurring since 2015, and it includes one on 5/1 of this season. He posted a sizable 6.14 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in those pair of aforementioned outings.

The Giants will turn to their often erratic right-hander Jeff Samardzija on Sunday. Samardzija has exhibited shaky overall form throughout the period of his prior six starts, evidenced by his lofty 5.35 ERA, and a dismal 1-5 team start record.

Final Take and Pick
New York has gone over the total in six straight games. They’ve amassed 5 or more runs scored in six of its last seven games. The usually reliable Mets bullpen has been terrible throughout their previous eight contests.

San Francisco is 7-0-1 over the total during its previous eight games, scoring 5 runs or more seven times, and their bullpen has been absolutely brutal over that stretch.

With all things being considered, tonight’s game has all the earmarks of a high scoring affair. That’s exactly the direction I’ll be leaning toward when making one of my Sunday MLB picks.
