The Dodgers fell one win short in the 2017 World Series, losing to the Houston Astros in Game 7, but oddsmakers say 2018 will end better as Los Angeles is +350 to become MLB’s next champions. With the 2018 season less than 100 days away, let’s look at fresh odds from 5Dimes.

Dodgers Early Odds Favorites to Win 2018 World Series

Major League Baseball's 2018 season begins March 29 with 30 teams seeking World Series glory by navigating the landmines of a 162-game schedule and getting a little luck along the way.

The biggest offseason news was made by the New York Yankees (5/1 to win 2018 World Series, 5Dimes), who acquired NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton (.289 average/59 home runs/132 RBIs) from the Miami Marlins for 2B Starlin Castro, P Jorge Guzman, SS Jose Devers, and two minor-leaguers. Moving forward, the Bronx Bombers might be having their own nightly Home Run Derby with the 6-foot-6, 246-pound Stanton, the 6-foot-7, 282-pound Aaron Judge (.284/52/115) and 6-foot-2, 230-pound Gary Sanchez (.278/33/90) in their modern-day Murderer’s Row batting lineup.

Who needs Bryce Harper? Apparently not the Yankees. For now Harper is staying with the Washington Nationals (10/1), who need him the most. Meanwhile, ace LHP Clayton Kershaw and the defending NL champion Los Angeles Dodgers (+350) — odds favorites to win the Fall Classic — brought back OF Matt Kemp in exchange for 1B Adrian Gonzalez, P Brandon McCarthy, P Scott Kazmir and IF Charlie Culberson, who all went to the Atlanta Braves (50/1). The Los Angeles Angels (20/1) signed Japanese P/OF Shohei Ohtani to join Mike Trout in La La Land, so Los Angeles might be the hottest MLB city at the moment.

Contrarily, the New York Mets (23/1) are not much of a dancing partner for the Yankees in The Big Apple; the White Sox (50/1) are still rebuilding on Chicago’s South Side; and the Oakland Athletics (80/1) and San Francisco Giants (50/1) are expected to stink it up again in the Bay Area.

And where do free-agent RHP Yu Darvish and Baltimore Orioles IF Manny Machado (.259/33/95) end up? The Yankees, Chicago Cubs (+1050) and reigning World Series champion Houston Astros (7/1) are reportedly interested in those stars.

As we await the release of the AL and NL pennant and divisional futures odds, here are fresh 2018 World Series numbers from 5Dimes:
