While Jordan Spieth looks like he might runaway with The Masters, there are those who believe they might be piling of wins against the betting odds and moved numerous lines on Saturday.

Will they have the same kind of success Spieth has enjoyed or might they be in a rough day against the sportsbooks? Let’s delve into the numbers and formulate opinions. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (482-425 L172D)

Utah Jazz vs. Portland Trail blazers 10:05 ET ROOT-NW, KGW
A combination of factors has led to Portland being dropped two points to -6. It starts with LaMarcus Aldridge suffering a sprained left foot. Next, Arron Afflalo was brought in to be Portland's sixth man when he was acquired in February, but he's had to step into a starting role after Wesley Matthews suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in early March. Against Golden State, Afflalo suffered a sprained shoulder and is thought to be out at least a week, leaving his playoff status in doubt when the postseason begins next week. Toss in the fact Utah, despite not being a playoff team, is still fighting and is 5-2 (4-2-1 ATS) in their last seven contests, with both setbacks by a total of three points. With the Trail Blazers injuries, even at home, the Jazz are worth a look to add them to your NBA picks.

NBA Pick – Lean Utah

Chicago Cubs vs. Colorado Rockies 8:10 ET CSN-C+, ROOT-RM
The last time Colorado started 4-0 was 1995. They have never been 5-0 to start a season and those overlooking the MLB odds for sports picks are not convinced they will necessarily reach that juncture either. The Rockies with new starter Kyle Kendrick were sent out as -125 home favorites but an update of wagers placed find they are down to a Pick versus Chicago. The Cubs might not want to wait to bring Kris Bryant up, since they have touched home plate three times in three games. The lack of clutch hitting has accounted for both losses, while Colorado is scoring a robust 6.2 runs per contest. This might be the right spot for the Cubs to break loose since they are 17-7 after scoring three runs or less three straight games.

MLB Pick – Lean Cubs

Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox 2:10 ET FSN-N, WGN
The Chicago White Sox were thought to be contenders in the AL Central, yet to this point they appear worse than Minnesota, who MLB baseball handicappers believed would be the worst team in the division. Unfortunately the Pale Hose, they are 0-4 and played dreadfully, being outscored 27-7. One of Chicago’s big offseason acquisitions was Jeff Samardzija and he surrendered five runs and six hits with three walks in a 10-1 loss to Kansas City in the opener. For those placing MLB picks, the former Cub and his new team are drawing little support even against the 1-3 Twins and have plummeted from -180 and are closing in on -150. The White Sox have not started a season 0-5 since 1968, when they began 0-10 and bettors are not going to be lining up to back Samardzija as a stopper since he was 0-6 last year if his teams were off two or more losses. (Team Record) Nevertheless, I’m no fan of Minnesota’s Mike Pelphrey either and think the Chi-Sox find a way to win.

MLB Pick – Lean White Sox

Detroit Red Wings vs. Corolina Hurricanes 7:05 ET FSN-D, FSN-CR
Detroit has made the playoffs for the 24th straight year, but where they finish and who they will play is to be determined. Though the Red Wings could fall from the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic Division to a Wild Card, they are going to open the postseason on the road and the internet buzz on Detroit websites have them resting players today which is why they have slipped on NHL betting odds from -120 to +105 at Carolina.

NHL Pick – Lean Carolina
