Here are your MLB picks for the last day of the regular season. Who says these games don't mean anything? The Tigers, Royals, Cards & Pirates are fighting it out to win their respective division titles.

Where’s Your Heart?
Before I give out the MLB picks of the day, I want to mention the Detroit Tigers, who haven’t sealed up the AL Central Division after 2 consecutive beatings at the hands of the Minnesota Twins.

They lost their last 2 games by a total of 23-7 to a bottom-feeder. Although the Tigers have a great lineup, they should be embarrassed. Another team that I failed to mention were the Oakland Athletics.

Talk about a team that’s crawling their way into the playoffs… The A’s are just 1 game ahead of the Mariners, but they have been awful. I just wanted to get that off of my chest.

Los Angeles Angels (98-63) vs. Seattle Mariners (86-75)

They Still Have a Chance At the Post Season?
I can’t believe it myself, but the Seattle Mariners are looking for an A’s loss today and need to take care of business against a Halos team that is looking ahead. If the Mariners win and the A’s lose, we go to a game 163, therefore this game is huge.

King Felix Hernandez
He hasn’t been pitching like a king lately, but Hernandez gets a chance to redeem himself with a lot on the line against a disinterested team. Hernandez (14-6, 2.18) is coming off of a pounding against the Toronto Blue Jays in which he allowed 4 runs and 8 hits in 4 2/3 innings in a Mariners 10-2 loss. King Felix only has one win in his last 8 starts. With all of that said, he’s a big money pitcher; the best pitcher in the American League over the last decade and I look for him to come up big.

The Mariners have momentum coming into this game having won 3 straight games and I’m sure they’re shocked to find out that they still have a chance to make the playoffs.

This is a big money game and I’m expecting big money players like Robinson Cano (.314, 14 HR, 82 RBI) to play a key role in this game. Robbie’s batting averaged has dipped a bit towards the end of the season, but when everything is on the line, I’ll surely take Cano at the plate in a pressure situation.

Kansas City Royals (88-73) vs. Chicago White Sox (73-88)

A Gift For K.C.
Even though the Royals have the AL Wild Card sealed, they have bigger fish to fry after a Detroit Tigers collapse in the last two games. With a Kansas City win and Detroit loss, the Royals will see a game 163 for the American League Central Division Title.

The Tigers are sending David Price to the mound, but I’m no longer counting on that choker of a team, I’m taking my bet to the South Side of Chicago where the Royals are sure to not let me down against a team that has a pretty weak offensive roster with the exception of Jose Abreu.

The Royals didn’t help themselves yesterday either with a 5-4 loss to Chicago; I’m wondering if anyone wants to play playoff baseball.

Today, the Royals send out Yordano Ventura in which they have the clear cut advantage where starting pitching is concerned. Ventura has won 8 out of his last 10 decisions and is coming off of two consecutive victories in his last two outings. In these two games, Ventura has pitched 14 innings while allowing just 1 run on 4 hits. If he can pitch like this today, the ball is in Detroit’s court.

The Royals lack a decisive star, but with gamers like Aoki, Escobar, Hosmer, and Gordon, they should easily defeat the White Sox who have nothing to play for except the spoiler role.

Free MLB Pick: Kansas City -170 at 5 Dimes (Odds makers creating extreme odds because it’s the end of the regular season and a team like the Royals has something to play for)
