Boston took the opener of this series Friday night 4-3, giving us a winner with our free MLB pick on the Sox. We'll try to do it again with Game 2 of this series Saturday afternoon (4:05 pm ET).

Saturday's Betting Odds
In the early betting Boston and Allen Webster were favored by around -115 over New York and Shane Greene, with a total of nine runs.

Friday Re-Hash
Boston got two hits and two RBI from Dustin Pedroia and a quality start from rookie Anthony Ranaudo on its way to a 4-3 victory. The Sox, to our delight, won as -125 post-time chalk on the MLB betting line, and the game played 'under' its total of nine runs.

Boston's newly acquired slugger Yoenis Cespedes did not play Friday, but he is expected to be in the lineup Saturday.

Saturday's Starter
Webster (1-0, 3.38) will be making his second start of the season; last Sunday he gave up two runs and three hits through 5 1/3 innings against Tampa, surviving five walks, picking up the W in a 3-2 Boston victory.

Last year Webster started seven games for the Sox, compiling an 8.60 ERA.

Webster earned a shot at a spot in Boston's near non-existent rotation by going 4-4 with a 3.10 ERA at Triple-A Pawtucket this year, allowing 107 hits in 122 innings, with 44 walks and 100 strikeouts.

This will be Webster's first-ever start against the Yankees.

Greene (2-1, 3.28) is 2/4 on quality starts since joining the Yankees rotation a month ago, but 0 for his last two. Last time out he gave up three runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings vs. the Blue Jays, and just before that he gave up four runs in 5 2/3 innings against Texas.

On the season Greene has allowed 21 hits in 24 2/3 innings, walked eight and struck out 19. New York is 2-2 in Greene's starts, and three of those four games stayed 'under' the totals.

This will be Greene's first-ever start against Boston.

Free Pick for Saturday
Like with Friday's game, making a pick on Saturday's contest is almost a shot in the dark, because neither starting pitcher gives us much to go on. But in thinking the events of recent days may give Boston a bit of an emotional boost we'll go with the Red Sox, at the -109 offered at 5Dimes, for today's free MLB pick.
