LA won this series opener Friday night 6-2, which was just fine with us, with our free MLB pick on the 'over' cashing in. We and the Dodgers will try to make it two wins in a row on Game 2 of this series Saturday night (9:10 pm ET).

Saturday's Betting Odds
In the early betting action Pinnacle was chalking LA and Zack Greinke at -166, while New York and  rookie righty Jacob deGrom were getting +160 at 5Dimes. And most shops were offering the total for Saturday's game at 6.5 runs.

Friday Re-Hash
LA rapped out 11 hits, including five for extra bases, while getting a quality start from Dan Haren for a 6-2 victory. The Dodgers won as -130 favorites on Friday's MLB betting board, and covered on the run line at a price of +160.

Also, to our great relief, the game played 'over' its total of 7.5 runs when the Mets scored a meaningless run off LA reliever Jamey Wright in the top of the ninth.

Saturday's Starters
Greinke (12-8, 2.75) had this start pushed back a couple of days because of a sore elbow. So his health, and durability, may be a question mark. So far this season he's 16/25 on quality starts, but 0 for his last two. Last time out, eight days ago against Milwaukee, Greinke got through five innings of shutout ball, but walked five. And just before that, also against the Brewers, he gave up four runs and eight hits through six innings.

On the season Greinke has allowed 148 hits in 157 innings, walked 35 and whiffed 170. LA is 13-12 in Greinke's starts. Greinke started once earlier this season against the Mets, giving up one ER and four hits in five innings of a 5-3 Dodgers loss back on May.

deGrom (6-5, 2.87) will come off the DL (tendinitis in shoulder) to make his first start in over two weeks. He had been on a pretty good roll, going 5/6 on quality starts, holding opponents to a total of seven ER over his previous six starts. On the season deGrom has allowed 90 hits in 100 innings, walked 33 and struck out 94. New York is 7-9 in deGrom's starts. deGrom started once earlier this season against LA, giving up three solo home runs in six innings of a 4-3 Mets loss back in May.

Free Pick for Saturday
With the way deGrom has been throwing over the last six weeks or so the value on today's line resides with New York. So we'll take the Mets, at the underdog price, for our free MLB pick for Game 2.
