The Indians and Yankees start a four-game set tonight, with Justin Masterson penciled in as the starter for the home team. We have examined the sports betting lines closely and believe we've got the right pick.

Odds Overview
Though the Yankees just finished up a successful series in Minnesota, they still find themselves as the underdogs for this evening's series opener in Cleveland.

The MLB odds show Justin Masterson and the Indians favored at close to -150, with New York available for the taking at +140. The O/U has opened at an even nine runs, and for now the UNDER is getting most of the action.

New York Yankees (Greene)
To start off their long road trip, set to last all the way until the All-Star Break, the Yankees won three of four against the Twins.

Following this series in Cleveland, the Bronx Bombers will then head to Baltimore to play the Orioles three times over the weekend. Closing out the first half of the season in style could go a long way for a New York ballclub that's in a fight for its lives in the AL East.

To help shore up their rotation (or so they hope) in preparation for the second half, the Yankees traded away Vidal Nuno for Brandon McCarthy.

Nuno was scheduled to start tonight, so in his place New York will have to call up Shane Greene, who will be making his major league debut. Greene has gone 5-2 with a 4.61 ERA for Scranton so far in 2014.

In terms of hitting, it was encouraging to see the Yankees have more luck in that regard against Minnesota. They totaled 23 runs in four games, a great return for a team that's ranked in the bottom half of baseball in the four major hitting categories. Can New York get after Masterson tonight?

Cleveland Indians (Masterson)
The Indians have fallen off the pace in the division, as they're currently six games back of the Tigers for the top spot.

Cleveland did manage to end their home series with Kansas City on a high note, winning each of the last two games quite comfortably. They won 7-3 on Saturday and then secured the 4-1 victory yesterday behind a great start from Corey Kluber.

Now it's Justin Masterson's turn to show us what he can do.

As we're sure you know, it's been a tough season for Masterson so far. After going 14-10 with a 3.45 ERA last year, he's been unsuccessfully searching for similar success in 2014. Heading into tonight, Masterson is 4-5 with a 5.16 ERA and 1.59 WHIP.

Control has been a major issue for the 29-year old. He's shown signs of brilliance here and there, but for the most part he's been laboring through his starts, as evident by the fact he's failed to get past the fourth inning in each of his last two appearances. Cleveland will be hoping for better things against the Yankees here.

MLB Pick
As much as Masterson has struggled, we still trust him more than the little-known Greene. What's more, the right-hander has actually done quite well at home, going 3-1 with a 3.54 ERA through eight starts.

Plus, as a team the Indians have been outstanding at Progressive Field all season, having gone 25-16, the best mark in the AL Central.

New York may have a little confidence on their side after a good showing against the Twins, but we expect it to be much more difficult for them in Cleveland this week. In the opener, we're taking Masterson and the Indians.

MLB Pick: Indians -1 (-109)
