We’re going to examine a pair of MLB totals in games between the Mariners/Angels & Diamondbacks/Padres. Go inside to read our detailed analysis followed with MLB picks on the totals.

Mariners (Iwakuma) vs. Angels (Weaver) 3:35 PM ET
Hisashi Iwakuma has seen all five of his starts during day games this season go under the total. During those outings he’s posted a dominating 1.47 ERA and 0.71 WHIP. Iwakuma has also displayed superb form during his previous four starts, evidenced by a 1.75 ERA and 0.90 WHIP over that stretch. Iwakuma has a very good 2.72 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in eleven career starts (since 2012) versus the Angels.

This hasn’t been a prototypical 2015 campaign for Jered Weaver. However, Weaver can hang his hat on the fact that he’s pitched very well at home, posting a shining 2.87 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in ten starts.

Both team’s offensive numbers have shown a considerable dip during day games compared to at night. These AL West rivals have seen six of their eight encounters in Anaheim this season go under the total. I like this game to be a low scoring affair, and one of my MLB picks on Sunday will be indicative of that prediction.

MLB Pick: Play the Mariners and Angels Under 8.0 (-105) at 5Dimes.

Diamondbacks (Godley) vs. Padres (Shields) 4:10 PM ET
The Diamondbacks starter Zack Godley has seen each of this three road starts go over the total this season, and he posted a lofty 5.17 ERA in those appearances. His one day game start in 2015 was a disaster. That outing came at Wrigley Field in Chicago, and he allowed 6 earned runs while walking 6 and surrendered 2 home runs in just 3 2/3 innings pitched.

James Shields has seen each of his previous ten starts all go over the total, and those contests averaged a combined 11.1 runs scored per game. As a matter of fact, San Diego has gone 24-7 (77.4%) over the total this season when Shields is their starting pitcher. The high scoring data doesn’t stop there for San Diego. They’re 92-57 (61.1%) over the total in all games this year.

This has the earmarks of a high scoring game. According to current MLB betting odds, "The Greek" provides me with a most favorable price regarding this specific wager.

MLB Pick: Play the Diamondbacks and Padres Over 7.5 (-110) at The Greek.
