Our MLB consultant shares his two best totals picks on Sunday’s card. Join us in reading this insightful betting preview article covering totals in games between Houston/Minnesota and Baltimore/Texas.

Astros (McCullers) vs. Twins (Santana) 2:10 PM ET
Lance McCullers has gone 1-6 in his team starts on the road this season. During those seven outings he posted a lofty 5.19 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. His last two road starts at Texas and Tampa Bay were absolutely horrible. McCullers compiled a monster 14.22 ERA in those two appearances.

Ervin Santana has struggled mightily during his previous six starts. During that stretch, he posted a large 8.13 ERA, and 2.04 WHIP. The Twins right-handed hurler has a terrible 9.76 ERA and 2.11 WHIP in three starts at Target Field this year. Each of those three games went over the total.

This selection isn’t so much about how both teams have hit recently, and more so related to both starting pitchers shaky form of late. I’m calling for an ample amount of runs to be scored today at Target Field, and one of my MLB picks on Sunday will be reflective of that prediction. Both 5Dimes and Pinnacle provide the best value for this specific wager.

MLB Pick: Play on the Astros and Twins Over 8.5 (+102).

Orioles (Gonzalez) vs. Rangers (Holland) 3:05 PM ET
Miguel Gonzalez has been in brutal form over his previous six starts, posting a sizable 7.58 ERA and 1.88 WHIP during that stretch. Gonzalez has gone 5-1 over the total in six day game starts this year with a lofty 5.76 ERA and 1.75 WHIP.

Derek Holland has made three starts for Texas since returning from his season long stay on the disabled list. He’s been vulnerable to allowing the long ball in those outings. Holland allowed 5 home runs in just 13 1/3 innings. That’s not good news since he’ll be facing one of the better power hitting teams in baseball today. The Orioles have smashed an impressive 168 home runs thus far in 2015. Holland has also averaged just 4.4 innings pitched per start. That also raises a red flag when considering the Texas bullpen struggles this year.

These two teams should be able to generate plenty of offense in Arlington on Sunday afternoon. That will be the direction that I’ll go when making one of my MLB picks today. 5Dimes clearly provides me with the best value pertaining to this wager.

MLB Pick: Play on the Orioles and Rangers Over 9.5 (+105).
