Ask yourself before placing your next baseball bet: Will the San Francisco Giants end their current dismal streak of losing five in a row or will the Nats win their ninth consecutive home game?

Sunday Night ESPN Baseball in Nation’s Capital
Appealing betting odds are trading as the Nationals and Giants conclude their three game series at 8:08 PM ET. This will be the ESPN Sunday night national telecast. The Nationals have won the first two games of the series by scores of 2-1 on Friday and 9-3 yesterday.

Sunday's Starting Pitchers Betting Preview
The Giants Ryan Vogelsong gets the starting assignment tonight. He’s displayed good form over his previous three starts by posting a 1.93 ERA. However, he has a less than impressive 5.04 ERA on the road this season, and allowed an alarming 10 home runs in 44 2/3 innings pitched during those outings. Vogelsong has also endured some difficulties in six career starts versus Washington, posting a sizable 6.67 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, and all of those outings have occurred since 2012.

The Nationals Jordan Zimmerman gets the call on Sunday. Zimmerman has been terrific in his last two starts, allowing 0 earned runs on 12 hits while walking none in 15 2/3 innings of work. Since the beginning of the 2013 season, the Nationals hurler has made three starts versus San Francisco and was dominant. During those three outings he posted a superb 1.52 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and had better than a 5:1 strikeout to walk ratio. Zimmerman has gone an outstanding 28-7 in his team starts since 2013 as a money line home favorite of -150 or more.

Forgetful Road Trip for the Giants
The San Francisco Giants entered this current six game road trip having won four of their previous five games. Unfortunately for them, they were unable to build off that momentum. They’ve gone 0-5 in the first five games of the trip, and have now lost six straight away games overall.

Nationals Finally Living up to Preseason Billing
The Washington Nationals have gone a terrific 14-4 in their last eighteen games, and are starting to resemble a team which was the consensus National League favorite prior to the start of the 2015 MLB campaign. Since the beginning of the 2014 season, Washington has gone an extremely profitable 32-14 versus NL West opponents. The Nationals enter today having won eight straight games at home & we bet that will continue.

Final Analysis
The up to date data on this game clearly favors the Nationals on multiple fronts pertaining to Sunday’s matchup. I’m going to be siding with the money line home favorite for one of my MLB picks. Heritage received my call on this wager based on the best price available at that time.

MLB Picks: Play Washington -159 on the money line at Heritage.
