Our MLB handicapping professional previews Monday’s Dodgers and Diamondbacks game. Go inside to read this revealing article which concludes with a MLB pick.

NL West Foes Open Three Game Set
The Dodgers and Diamondbacks will open a three game series on Monday. The opening pitch from Chase Field in Arizona is slated for 9:40 PM ET. Current MLB odds at has Arizona as a -158 money line favorite, and the posted total is 8.5. at BetOnline also has Arizona at +130 on the run-line.

Monday will mark the 4th game played between these NL West rivals. The Dodgers won 2 of the first 3 encounters, and each of those games went over the total. As a matter of fact, the Dodgers are a dominating 30-11 (.732) since 2014 against Arizona.

Starting Pitching Matchup
Mike Bolsinger will make his 5th start of the season tonight for the Dodgers. Bolsinger has gone 1-3 thus far with a lofty 5.76 ERA, and he surrendered 5 home runs in just 20 1/3 innings pitched.

Zack Greinke gets the nod for Arizona this evening. Greinke is finally beginning to show the stellar form we’ve all been accustomed during recent seasons. The right-handed hurler is 5-0 in his last five starts while posting an excellent 1.95 ERA and 0.73 WHIP. He’ll be facing a Dodgers lineup on Monday which has a poor team batting average of .231 in 2016. Greinke has gone an extremely profitable 32-5 (.865) in his career team starts versus Nationals League opponents possessing a batting average of .250 or less.

Strength in Numbers
I alluded to this fact in my Dodgers/Giants preview on Sunday, and it’s worth repeating again. The Dodgers are 12-1 this season when Clayton Kershaw is their starting pitcher. However, they’ve gone a dismal 21-30 (.412) during the rest of its games. Los Angeles has struggled offensively all season. As a matter of fact, during their last 7 games, the Dodgers have a horrible .282 team OBP.

Arizona will be facing an opponent (Dodgers) tonight with a terrible .301 OBP for the season. The Diamondbacks are 13-4 (.765) in 2016 when facing a National League team with a .325 or less OBP.

Final Take and Pick
The Dodgers are coming off a weekend series in San Francisco against their most bitter rival. Additionally, Los Angeles played in the Sunday night ESPN nationally televised game. Contrarily, Arizona played a day game at Chase Field on Sunday, and they’re in a middle of a current six game home stand. In terms of a situational standpoint, Arizona clearly will have the upper hand this evening.

When considering all the pertinent factors pertaining to this matchup, I’m using the home team on the run line for one of my Monday MLB picks.
