Our MLB handicapping professional shares his top totals picks on Saturday’s card. Don’t make a move on the Tigers/White Sox or Cardinals/Braves games without reading this betting preview.

Tigers (Verlander) vs. White Sox (Johnson) 7:10 PM ET
Jason Verlander has been rock solid in his eight road starts, posting a stellar 2.57 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. The veteran right-handed hurler has also displayed very good form during his previous three starts overall, compiling a 2.49 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. Detroit has averaged just 3.6 runs per game in their last seven, and has gone under the total in seven of its previous eleven games.

Erik Johnson has a more than respectable 3.18 ERA over his previous four starts. The White Sox have averaged a paltry 2.9 runs per game and had a lousy .629 OPS in their last seven contests. They’ve also seen eight of their previous eleven games go under the total.

I like this game to be a low scoring affair, and one of my MLB picks on Saturday will reflect that prediction.

MLB Picks: Play on the Tigers and White Sox Under 7.5 (-125) at The Greek.

Cardinals (Lackey) vs. Braves (Miller) 7:10 PM ET
John Lackey has made a strong case to be the Cardinals opening game starter come playoff time. He’s been in excellent form over his last three starts which is evidenced by a brilliant 0.86 ERA during that stretch. Lackey has also been lights out in his previous three road starts, posting a terrific 1.29 ERA in those outings. St. Louis will be facing a Braves team today that averages only 0.55 errors per game. The Cardinals are 44-24 (64.7%) under the total this season versus an opponent that averages 0.60 or less errors per game.

Shelby Miller has been by far the most tough luck starting pitcher in baseball this season. Despite posting a sparkling 3.15 ERA during 31 starts in 2015, Miller has a horrible 5-17 record. No starting pitcher with a minimum 25 starts this year has received less run support than Miller. The Braves hurler will be facing a Cardinals team which has averaged only 4.0 runs per game this season. Miller is 14-5 (73.7%) under the total this year versus opponents averaging 4.0 runs or less per game. Atlanta has gone under the total in their last four contests, and there was a combined average of only 3.0 runs scored per game.

According to current MLB odds at Heritage, they provide me with the best option regarding this wager.

MLB Pick: Play on the Cardinals and Braves Under 7.0 (-105) at Heritage.
