The Atlantis Casino in Reno released its 2017 MLB win totals last week with the champion Chicago Cubs getting a 95½ posted besides their name, possibly the highest number posted for an MLB team at a sportsbook. But is that lofty number too low?  The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas is hanging a opening 97½ on the Cubbies?

MLB Regular Season Team Win Totals

The Atlantis sportsbook in Reno (Nevada) and sportsbook director Steve Mikkelson released their opening 2017 MLB Regular Season Win Totals, and to nobody’s surprise the World Series champion Chicago Cubs (+325 to win World Series, BetPhoenix) are on top of the list of baseball’s 30 teams with a 95½ (-110 for both) total with the Cleveland Indians (+500 to win World Series, BetPhoenix) the AL team with the highest posted number at 92½ and the Boston Red Sox (+500 to win World Series, BetPhoenix) a close second at 90½.

Before you think that 95½ on the Cubs may be the highest total ever posted, know the Golden Nugget here in Las Vegas hung a 97½ on Kris Bryant (20/1 to be MLB HR leader, Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook) and Chicago late last week. Here are last season’s final 2016 records and opening numbers from the Atlantis.

Handful Of NL Teams Seem Offer Potential Winners In Rich Market

Despite having to wait until October to potentially cash Futures Book bets in this market, the Team Win Total market can be a wise one in which to get involved with a winner (Over or Under) guaranteed for every team as opposed to World Series, Pennant and player props markets like MLB Home Run leader where (unless a tie) only one name ends up bringing its backers a payout.

The NL looks rich with possibilities with both the NL East’s Washington Nationals (10/1 to win World Series, BetPhoenix) and New York Mets (12/1 to win World Series, BetPhoenix) number seeming about 5 games too high (90½, Atlantis), while Maikel Franco and the Philadelphia Phillies (100/1 to win World Series, BetPhoenix) should be able to squeeze out 74 to 80 wins and top their total of 72½ (Atlantis).
