White Sox will try to redeem themselves in the 2nd game of a 4-game set with Orioles after a shellacking last night. Let’s cash our seventh straight winner in our MLB picks tonight.

2016 MLB Record (13-7, +5.87 units)

Chicago White Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles

Chicago White Sox (16-7, +9.7 units)
The South Siders rung up two runs in the top of the first and it looked like they were well on their way to winning their seventh straight until the Orioles shut them down the rest of the way en route to a 10-2 win at Camden yards. Chicago’s starter John Danks surrendered six runs on nine hits in six plus innings of work. Danks has lost his last seven consecutive starts dating back to September of last year. Offense, or lack thereof, continues to be a problem despite the team’s 13-7 mark. The White Sox are 19th in runs scored, 18th in team batting average and in the lower third in on base percentage as well as slugging percentage.

Southpaw Carlos Rodon is on the hill for the White Sox tonight toting a 1-2 mark and a 4.05 ERA to go along with a 1.40 WHIP. In his last start the MLB odds makers installed Rodon and the White Sox as a -140 home favorite over the Texas Rangers and he did not disappoint. The 23-year-old lefty dealt six plus innings surrendering just two runs on two hits leading to a 4-3 victory but did not factor in the decision. It was a remarkable rebound from his previous start when he did not even last an inning and was torched for five runs on six hits which resulted in a 7-0 defeat to the Angels.

Baltimore Orioles (13-8, +6.4 units)
Manny Machado was a one-man wrecking crew last night as he smashed a grand slam and notched a career-high five RBI’s in the Orioles demolition of their guests last night. It was a sensational way to open up their 10-game homestand and halt the White Sox six-game winning streak. Chris Davis and Mark Trumbo also homered, back-to-back, and the Orioles now boast the best home record in all of baseball at 8-1 on the young season. Baltimore has already hit back-to-back homeruns three times this season and is 7-0 when plating five or more runs. The O’s offense is one of the best in the majors with the 6th ranked team batting average at .269, the 7th ranked on base percentage, 10th in runs scored and 4th in slugging percentage.

Right-hander Mike Wright will try to right his ship after getting whacked around in his last start. For all of those who backed Wright and the Orioles in their MLB picks on Sunday afternoon as +130 road underdogs, it was a disappointing outing with the Royals tagging Wright for five runs on eight hits. The twenty-six-year-old was sailing along nicely until allowing a run in the sixth and three in the seventh leading to a 6-1 loss to the defending World Champions.

Betting Analysis
The Orioles are 5-2 against the White Sox in games played in Baltimore over the past three seasons. Normally I look at a pitching matchup like this and immediately lean towards the better pitcher. But I don’t believe this is much a pitching mismatch as many believe. Wright is young and has very good stuff though the results have been sketchy this season.

What I do like is a hot-hitting Baltimore crew against a Chicago offense that has been anemic and only winning due to sensational pitching. I believe Wright could get a big break here against this weak hitting White Sox lineup and getting the best team in baseball at home laying less than a dime is too good to pass up.
