The Dodgers are playing some great Baseball right now and may have the deepest Roster in The Bigs and rookie Cody Bellinger, Corey Seager and Yasiel Puig, Jacob Turner and Chris Taylor all hitting the cover off the ball.

Odds Overview

New York Mets at Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB Network, SNY, SportsNet-LA, SNLA Spanish, 10:10 p.m. ET): Southpaw Hyun-Jun Ryu—a replacement starter for Alex Wood—takes the ball for the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium against Steven Matz and the Mets in Game 4 of this 4-game NL series at Chavez Ravine on Thursday night as the hosts look for the sweep. Oddsmakers have the Dodgers solid-149 chalks (BetOnline) with the Total at 8½ (BetCRIS). Los Doyers won Game 1 on Monday in a slugfest, 10-6, as Clayton Kershaw gave up a career-high 4 HRs and Turner went 4-for-4 and romped in Game 2 on Tuesday, winning 12-0 as Corey Seager belted three HRs. LA gave Rich Hill the pill in Game 3 Wednesday (LAD -210, 9o -115, 5Dimes) while NY sent Tyler Pill to the hill. And somewhere up in Heaven, Dr. Seuss smiled ... and then bet the Dodgers, who rolled to and 8-2 win.

New York Mets

Yoenis Céspedes and the Mets finally got some Offense on their Roster, but Injuries to the Pitching staff have again hamstrung New York NL’s quest (33/1 to win NL, Bovada) to evolve, with Noah Syndergaard (Torn Lat), Matt Harvey (Shoulder) and Jeurys Familia (Shoulder) the latest Metropolitans’ hurlers to be sidelined. And NY couldn’t have picked a worse time to run into these hot-hitting Dodgers who have outscored the Mets 22-6 halfway through the series, hitting 10 HRs in the process. In Wednesday’s Mets Manager Terry Collins has a Starting Lineup of: CF Granderson, 1B Flores, LF Céspedes, RF Bruce, C d’Arnaud, 3B Rivera, SS Reyes, 2B Cecchini with Tyler Pill getting the start.

The Mets (14-17 on Road) are 0-5 L5 Thursdays, 7-21 L28 vs. Teams with Winning Record and 3-7 L10 Matz Starts on Grass but 10-4 L14 Matz Road Starts overall according to Covers.com. The Over is 4-0 L4 Mets games vs. LHP and 10-2 L12 Thursdays while the Under is 6-1 L7 Matz Road Starts vs. Winning-Record clubs.

 Los Angeles Dodgers

In the middle of 20 games in 20 days stretch (their next Off Day is July 3), the Dodgers and Manager Dave Roberts are playing as good as a team can right now, but still have to worry about Arizona and Colorado in the piranha-like 2017 NL West Division. LA (378 RF-258 RA) now possesses the best Run Differential (+120) in all of MLB (by 3 Runs over the Astros) after bashing the Mets in Games 1, 2 and 3 with Cody Bellinger (22 HRs), Corey Seager and Chris Taylor continuing to impress. In Game 3 vs. NY on Wednesday, Los Doyers (+275 to win NL, Bovada) had a Starting Lineup of: 2B Utley, SS Seager, LF Taylor, 1B Bellinger, 3B Forsythe, C Grandal, CF Pederson, RF Puig with Rich Hill getting the pill

The Dodgers (MLB-best 28-10 at Home) are 8-2 L10 vs LHP Starters and 45-12 their L57 at Home vs. Teams with Losing Records. The Over is 11-1 L12 LA games overall and on Grass, 13-3-1 L17 at Home vs. Teams with Losing Records and with the weather warming up for Summer, expect the Over Trend to continue as oddsmakers’ slowly tick up their Totals at Chavez Ravine.

Los Angeles Weather, Series, Team and Umpire Trends

The Weather Channel forecast for Dodger Stadium on Thursday night calls for Mostly Clear skies, a Low of 63° with Light and variable SW Winds around 4 mph. The Over was 4-1 L5 in this cross-coast series between a team that plays in Queens and one which once formerly played in Brooklyn. Mets (0-5 L5 meetings) probable southpaw Starter Matz (1-1, 3.21 ERA) has looked pretty decent since his return from the DL, going 7 IP twice and is an impressive 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 13 Ks vs. LA in two career Starts while Ryu (3-6, 4.35 ERA) had his start switched with NL Pitcher of the Month for May Wood (7-0, 1.90 ERA) just became the first Dodgers Pitcher to go unbeaten in his first 10 Starts since Orel Hershiser (1983) and who has looked like the best P in The Bigs of late. Manager Roberts will now use Wood for Game 1 of a big 3-game series against the Rockies on Friday (10:10 pm ET). Here, expect Matz will be tested by the likes of Seager, Bellinger, Taylor, Jacob Turner, Yasiel Puig and even C Yasmani Grandal, who went 3-for-5 on Tuesday with a HR and banged another on in Wednesday night’s victory.

With the now first-place Dodgers (36-16 L52 vs. Teams Losing Records) playing such great Baseball and still motivated by the great play of the Diamondbacks (47-27) and first-place Rockies (45-27) and having an effective Closer (Kenley Jansen, 0.91 ERA, 0.57 WHIP) who still hasn’t allowed a Walk this season (50 Ks), backing host Los Angeles and the Over—6-1 L7 Ángel Hernández games as Umpire—once again this getaway night game from Hollywood are your MLB picks.
