With just a month remaining in the MLB Regular Season, every game means something to every team that's fighting it out for a post-season berth. Here are your MLB Picks of the Day for Saturday.

New York Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles

Reversing Roles
The Baltimore Orioles had led the American League Eastern Division for most of the season and they simply couldn't maintain the lead with the average pitching staff that they possess. Now, after an 8-0 blowout against a New York Yankees (69-64) team which has been hot as of late and looking to claim a wild-card berth, the O's get a very favorable starting pitching matchup as they face veteran, C.C. Sabathia  (8-11, 4.31 ERA). Just like the Baltimore Orioles (73-61), Sabathia couldn't maintain his level of excellence that he provided at the beginning of the season and he's had some trouble. With the Orioles offense clicking, they appear to be good value in tonight's game.

Last night could be the 'jumpstart' that the Baltimore Orioles needed as Mark Trumbo, Manny Machado, Pedro Alvarez, and Chris Davis all homered. The Orioles are a very lethal team power-wise and when they get a bit of confidence, home run hitting is contagious. Mark Trumbo bashed his 41st homer of the season despite being in a slump as of late and Chris Davis is a home run or strikeout type of hitter as he once hit over 50 home runs in a season. If this team can regain their composure and their starting pitching can at least keep them in games, this can be a dangerous team come playoff time. Camden Yards is very favorable to a home run hitter. The dimensions fit this Baltimore team perfectly.

Amazing "Splits" For Manny Machado
Manny Machado has emerged as the face of the Baltimore Orioles squad as he's a five-tool player. He can field, hit for average, and hit for power. Thus far this season, Machado has 33 HR, 85 RBI, and a .306 BA. We look deeper into his splits and they're very favorable. He's hitting .308 with 17 HR and 44 RBI at Camden Yards this season. Machado is also hitting .313 with 3 HR and 6 RBI in 48 at-bats against the New York Yankees. He also get's a matchup against a pitcher that he's had a great deal of success in dealing with as Machado is hitting .325 with 1 HR and 7 RBI in 40 at-bats against C.C. Sabathia.

Even though the Orioles are a moderate betting favorite, it seems like a good value with the talent that they possess and coming off of a strong effort on Friday and facing a declining pitcher in C.C. Sabathia. Baltimore is the MLB pick.

Chicago White Sox vs Minnesota Twins

The Most Overrated Nickname Of All Time?
I don't know if I'd go that far, but the last couple of seasons have been a nightmare for Chicago White Sox starting pitcher, James 'Big Game' Shields (5-16 ,5.86 ERA). How can anyone with an ERA of 8.53 against the American League be considered 'Big Game' as that's as bad as it get's? An earned run average defines the legitimate production of a pitcher. Shields has been shipped from Kansas City to San Diego and now to Chicago in a very short period of time as the White Sox are hoping that Shields can regain the form that he had in Kansas City.

Value In Big Game Shields?
His ERA is deceiving due to the fact that when he pitches poorly, he can give up 9 to 10 runs in a start and one start can basically ruin his ERA.  Shields is coming off of two respectable starts in which he went 0-1, but in his last 12 innings pitched, he's allowed 6 runs and has gone deep into ball games. That's more than respectable, especially as he faces a bottom-feeding Minnesota Twins (50-85) squad on the road. Due to the poor pitching of James Shields, the Minnesota Twins are actually the betting favorite in this game. The Twins have lost 14 out of their last 15 games! Even James 'Big Game Shields' has to be licking his chops as all he has to do is be fairly competitive for Chicago to defeat Minny.

Jose Abreu
Jose Abreu was supposed to be the big bat in this lineup and after struggling for a large portion of the season, he's been pouring it on as of late. He's 12 for his last 29 at-bats (.414) with 3 HR and 8 RBI. Abreu has really turned his season completely around in the last couple of months as he has 20 HR, 79 RBI, and a .293 BA. This is more than respectable and with players such as Adam Eaton picking up 4 hits last night and Todd Frazier going deep, the Chicago White Sox are a pick with great value in this spot.
