Our MLB handicapping professional shares his 2 run-line selections for Saturday. Read this betting preview article which will provide you with the best possible edge for your MLB picks.

Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers 8:05 PM ET

I will be concentrating on the run-line in this game today. According to the MLB betting odds at Pinnacle, Texas is -1.5 (+164) and Houston is +1.5 (-178) on the run-line. The Astros took the opening game of this series on Friday with a 5-1 win.

Houston will send veteran right-handed hurler Roberto Hernandez to the mound today. Hernandez will be pitching for his fifth team since the start of the 2012 MLB campaign. He’s really struggled in his starts at Arlington Texas in recent years. In his previous four starts at the home park of the Texas Rangers, Hernandez has posted a large 6.75 ERA and 1.71 WHIP. Hernandez will be facing a Rangers team that’s averaged only 2.8 runs per game to start the year. However, he’s gone a dismal 2-11 in his team starts versus American League opponents averaging 4.7 runs or less per game during the past two seasons, and his clubs were at a -2.0 run per game differential in those thirteen outings.  Despite a 2-2 start to the season, the Astros have hit a horrible .154 as a team.

Yovani Gallardo will be looking to rebound from his shaky Texas Ranger debu in a 8-0 loss at Oakland. Gallardo has the confidence in knowing that he’s gone 13-3 with a stellar 2.69 ERA in his career versus Houston.

MLB Pick: Play on Texas -1.5 (+164) on the run-line over Houston at Pinnacle Sports.

Kansas City Royals vs. Los Angeles Angels 9:05 PM ET
The MLB betting odds at Pinnacle indicates that the Angels are -1.5 (+166) and the Royals +1.5 (-181) on the run-line. This will be a rematch of the 2014 ALDS in which the Royals swept the Angels in three games.

The Royals will go with Jeremy Guthrie on the mound for game 2 of this series. Guthrie has made three starts versus the Angels since 2013, posting a lofty 5.57 ERA, and allowing a whopping eight home runs in 21.0 innings of work.

The Angels will turn to the ace of their pitching staff for tonight’s game. Jered Weaver has gone a terrific 6-1 in his previous seven team starts versus the Royals while posting an excellent 1.12 ERA.

The sportsbooks are obviously unimpressed by the Royals 4-0 start to the season, at least as it pertains to this specific game. I agree with their position in that regard, and one of my MLB picks on Saturday will be on the home side in this matchup.

MLB Pick: Play on the Angels -1.5 (+166) on the run line over the Royals at 5Dimes.
