Except for Jose Fernandez, you're not going to get many elite pitchers taking the mound, therefore we could see a lot of value in Saturday's MLB Odds, so read on and profit!

New York Yankees vs San Diego Padres
Cardiac Kids? Last night, the New York Yankees (39-40) really had a chance to make a statement as they had recently scored 6 runs to come back to win a game. Against the San Diego Padres (34-46), the Yankees were making their move as they trailed the Pads 7-2 going into the 9th. New York scored 4 runs in the final inning of the game and came up one run short.

Even though this isn't the overpriced, overachieving team that they once were, this is a team that never gives up and that's the reason why they're still hovering around the .500 mark, 8 games behind the Baltimore Orioles for the American League East Division lead. New York has just been not been able to "get over the hump', but this is a team that's dangerous and at +120 MLB Odds, is an appealing choice as they're a far superior team to that of the San Diego Padres.

There is Hope
The Yankees are treating Carlos Beltran like fine china as he's coming off of an injury and is having one of the best seasons of his career at the age of 39 and is the best Yankee by far.

Thus far this season after a 1 for 1 pinch-hit night, Beltran has raised his batting average to .299 to go along with 19 HR and 53 RBI. Of course, manager Joe Girardi is very cautious with his players, but I see no reason why Beltran shouldn't play tonight and that's a major plus for New York as they attempt to hit the .500 mark with a victory. Beltran is hitting .314 on the road with 7 HR and 21 RBI and is 7 for his last 13 at-bats on the road. A somewhat weak Yankees offense needs Beltran's bat in their lineup.

Wil Myers
Myers has really had a breakout season this year as his 19 HR, 57 RBI, and .288 BA indicates. He's also come up with a lot of big hits and it's not always about picking up hits, it's about coming through during clutch situations. Surprisingly, Petco Park, which is known for being a pitcher's park, has been really good to Myers as almost all of his production offensively has come from San Diego.

So far this season, Myers is hittting .345 with 13 HR and 37 RBI at home. He's also coming off of a 2 for 3 effort with a home run, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI's. If San Diego is to have a chance in this ball game, this is the go to guy; no question.

Detroit Tigers vs Tampa Bay Rays
"JV" At Appealing Odds will be our MLB Pick on this one. This is what you're going to get when Justin Verlander pitches way to many innings in a game in which he's getting dominated in his last outing. There's no doubt that the Detroit Tigers (42-38) are the better team in this matchup, but in his last start, Justin Verlander 7-6, 4.30 ERA) got beat up by the Cleveland Indians, seeing his ERA go from a very respectable 3.78 to 4.30 as JV allowed 8 runs and 9 hits in just 4 2/3 inning. Manager Brad Ausmus should be fired for leaving a quality pitcher in the game that long as that's a confidence killer.

Tonight, Verlander looks to redeem himself in a very winnable game as the Rays don't present much in offense except for Evan Longoria (18 HR, 44 RBI, .281 BA) as far as star power is concerned. This is the perfect spot for Verlander as the Tigers have beaten the Rays in the first two games of this series by a total of 20-9.

Overall, Detroit is on a 4 game winning streak and still is 7.5 games behind the surprising Cleveland Indians in the American League Central Division for 1st place, therefore every game is essential in trying to climb the ladder as far as the division is concerned.

Cameron Maybin
I remember when this guy was built up as the next Mike Trout. This season, Maybin is finally living up to the billing minus the power. Although he only has one homer this season, Maybin carries a.369 BA and .424 OBP% and quite frankly, I'm wondering when it's going to decrease.

He's only had 149 at-bats this season, but Maybin looks like the guy that was getting all of the hype before he entered the Major League level. Lately, he's been on a tear, hitting .458 with 7 RBI in the last week alone. The power isn't there, but the ability to knock in players, which is very important, is. Maybin is almost automatic against the Rays, going 13 of 19 with 6 runs, 1 HR and 10 RBI. He's also a threat on the basepath. Look for Cameron Maybin to play well as he's been as good as it gets, especially against the Rays at a quiet Tropicana Field.
