It's all or nothing again tonight for the National League and there are two top hurlers in Noah Syndergaard vs.Madison Bumgarner going at it to see who advances to the NLDS. See which MLB pick we think will come out on top.

According to 5 Dimes, where you can get a 50% Free Play Bonus, the San Francisco Giants are actually the betting favorite on the road at -112 and the total for the game is 6 runs. While the total appears to be a bit low, these are two of the better pitchers in the National League and both respective offenses leave a lot to be desired.

Where the New York Mets are concerned, it was smooth sailing into the wild-card spot, but then again, the National League wild-card competitors were somewhat weak and the Mets schedule down the stretch was very weak.

New York is a team that's encountered injuries all season long. This is a team that's supposed to have the best pitching staff in the MLB and in the end, the only man standing is Noah Syndergaard. Where their offense is concerned, Yoenis Cespedes (31 HR, 86 RBI, .280 BA) and Asdrubal Cabrera (23 HR, 62 RBI, .280 BA) have carried this team on their backs. That said, Cespedes has been often injured. He's a player that doesn't play when another player would play hurt. He couldn't even manage 500 at-bats for the season. That said, he's got a big-time glove and this is an elimination game and could actually bring out his strengths.

The Real MVP of the Mets

The real MVP is a player that play's every day and this eliminates pitchers or Syndergaard would be at the top of the list. Not only can Syndergaard pitch well, but he's a threat at the plate. Asdrubal Cabrera is the "Real MVP of the Mets". Most people would point to Cespedes and his ability to change the complexion of a game with one swing of the bat. but Cabrera is a player that's had a career year and a leader in the clubhouse.

Cabrera got red hot in the month of September as it was a month to remember. He batted  .317 with 6 HR and 17 RBI's in September. It seemed like almost every one of his hits was a big hit as the Mets managed to chase down a wild-card spot. Although Madison Bumgarner is an intimidating figure, Cabrera is a seasoned pro and I expect him to be one of the catalysts in the Mets drive to win this single elimination game.

Well Balanced Giants Lineup

This is far from a World Series caliber lineup, but we're talking about a wild-card game and the best thing that the San Francisco Giants possess along with Madison Bumgarner is the depth of their offense and the ability for a different player to step up in each game.

This means, if Buster Posey is running cold, Hunter Pence or Brandon Crawford would be there to pick up the slack. While Pence has been the hottest hitter on this team in the latter stages of the season, this isn't a team with an elite superstar.  Brandon Belt leads the Giants with a mere 17 home runs and Buster Posey leads the Giants with just 155 hits on the season. All of the recent San Francisco teams that won World Series' had average lineups at best and their pitching carried them. In this case, you have 6 hitters hitting between .266 and .289 if you want to include Eduardo Nunez. This is not necessarily a bad thing as the burden doesn't rely on one person.

Mets Find A Way To Win

The Mets are really a team that shouldn't be in the post-season. As stated before, their pitching staff is depleted with injuries and their offense has also been hit by the injury bug. The betting odds provided by 5 Dimes, one of the best sportsbooks, indicates this fact. That said, they've managed to win despite all of the adversity and I expect the Mets to squeeze out a victory at home, that's why they are my MLB pick. This San Francisco team was a team that gave up a division lead that they held for most of the season and isn't as good as some of the Giants teams in the past. They're certainly beatable.
