Take a look at our expert capper's Percetion/Reality play and cash in on an underdog MLB pick in Rockies vs. Giants

Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants
The Colorado Rockies and the San Fran Giants begin their 4-game weekend set in the City by the Bay. Colorado took 2 of 3 in an earlier set in Denver against the Giants, including the last 2 by combined scores of 21-12.

The Rockies, who have won less than 70 games in 3 of the last 4 years, and are expected to win only 71 this season, have been one of the biggest surprises this MLB season with a 13-14 mark. Nowhere is that more true than on the road, where Colorado is 9-6. This in the face of history which shows Colorado with a 32-49 mark on the road last year, and no more than 29 road wins in any of the previous 3 years before that. Yet, they remain an underdog in this matchup, based on the PERCEPTION that San Fran (who also has 14 losses), as well as Giants’ starter, Cain, are superior.  There are reasons to believe that is not the case.

The Giants are having a decent season at the plate with their No. 9th ranked offense sporting a .769 OPS.  Entering the week, the Rockies were No. 1 in that category with a .836 OPS, fully understanding that ½ of their games are at high-scoring Coors.

Battle On The Mound
On the mound, it appears to be no contest. After some early work in the bullpen, Rusin has been thrust into the rotation. For the season, Rusin is 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA.  In his recent start, Rusin worked 5 IP, allowing 1 hit with 6 Ks in a 5-2 victory over Arizona. Rusin enters this evening’s matchup having allowed no runs in his most recent 14 2/3 innings of work. He will have great confidence against this lineup, as in 4 appearances, Rusin has a 2.54 ERA. No such solid form for veteran Cain of San Fran.

Cain has not posted a victory in any of his last 12 starts, with a record of 0-6 and 6.75 ERA dating back to 2015. It has gotten no better this season as Cain is 0-3 with a 7.00 ERA. He worked 6 IP of a 6-5 loss to the Mets in his last time out, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits.  No reason to believe he will match the slants of Rusin tonight. I invite you to put the MLB odds in your favor and join me in my MLB pick on the Colorado Rockies tonight.
