We’re going to examine the Sunday afternoon MLB matchup between Atlanta and St. Louis. Will the Cardinals win their sixth game in a row? Can Atlanta put an end to a seven game road losing streak? Read our insightful betting preview article to get those answers and much more.

Cardinals look to Sweep Braves on Sunday
St. Louis will be out to complete a three game sweep of Atlanta on Sunday. The first pitch from Busch Stadium in St. Louis is slated for 2:15 PM ET. These teams have gone under the MLB odds total in 11-4 of their fifteen encounters since 2013. During that same time frame, St. Louis is 7-2 at Busch Stadium versus Atlanta.

Starting Pitchers
Matt Wisler will get the start for Atlanta on Sunday. Wisler has struggled in his three road starts this season with a lofty 5.17 ERA and 1.66 WHIP. This will be his first career start versus St. Louis. The Atlanta bullpen has a poor 4.94 ERA on the road this year.

Michael Wacha has been very good at home this season. In seven starts at Busch Stadium he’s posted a stellar 2.64 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. Wacha has also gone a superb 6-1 in his team starts this year during day games with an outstanding 2.08 ERA. This will be his first career start versus Atlanta.

Braves Road Woes Continue
By virtue of their 1-0 loss to St. Louis on Saturday, Atlanta has now dropped 7 games in a row on the road, and they possess a terrible 19-32 (.373) road mark in 2015. The Braves have very little power which is evidenced by their paltry 58 home runs in 97 games. At this current pace, they will fall short of reaching 100 homers for the season. Atlanta is also a miserable 10-19 in day games this year.

Cards incredible at Home in 2015
St. Louis has gone a spectacular 36-12 (.750) at home so far in 2015. They’re allowing only 2.6 runs per game in those 38 home tilts, and their bullpen ERA is a terrific 2.08 ERA at Busch Stadium. They’ll enter Sunday riding a five game winning streak and have gone 7-1 in the last eight. Just when you thought they couldn’t be any more impressive, the Cardinals are 22-4 as a money line home favorite of -150 or more, and have gone an unbelievable 50-17 overall as a money line favorite of -110 or more.

Final Analysis
Atlanta can’t hit their way out of a paper bag right now, and they’ll be facing arguably the best pitching staff in all of baseball. As a matter of fact, they’ve scored just 2 runs total in the first two games of this series, and have amassed just 13 runs combined in their last six on the road. I like the Cardinals to win by a decisive margin for one of my MLB picks on Sunday. I’m going to be placing a run-line wager at Pinnacle since they currently have the most attractive price.
