The Bronx Bombers look to get their revenge in the 3-game weekend set that begins tonight at Yankee Stadium. Who are the MLB odds with in this match between Red Sox & Yankees?

Boston Red Sox (Porcello) vs. NY Yankees (Pineda)
The Boston Red Sox and NY Yankees met last weekend at Fenway Park, when the bigger bats of Boston led a 3-0 sweep by outscoring the Yankees 20-9. Now, the Bronx Bombers look to get their revenge in the 3-game weekend set that begins tonight at Yankee Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 ET. That revenge does not figure to happen, at least in Game 1. When you have the better team with the better hitting and better pitching at an underdog price, it can only be your MLB Dog of the Day for Friday, May 6th. For, this is a matchup between a 17-11 Boston team, who is 9-4 on the road and a 9-17 NY Yankee team, who is 5-7 at home.

Yankees' Worst Start
This is the worst start for the storied NY Yankee franchise in recent memory. They have the No. 26th batting OPS at .669, while today’s starter, Pineda, has a .972 OPS (worse than 100 other starters with qualifying innings). The Yankees enter today’s game on a 1-7 slide in which they have scored 2 or less runs in 6 of the 8 games. Pineda has been more of a problem than aiding the solution. For the season, he is 1-3 with a 6.33 ERA. In his matchup vs. Porcello last weekend, he worked 5 IP, allowing 2 runs with 8 baserunners. We want no part of either the Yankees or Pineda in the role of favorite.

The Red Sox Spree
While the Yankees continue to struggle, Boston enters tonight’s contest on a 9-2 run, after consecutive victories vs. CWS by combined scores of 12-5. The Red Sox have the No. 5 batting OPS at .786, while Porcello’s .625 OPS is far superior to that of Pineda. For the season, Porcello is now 5-0 with a 2.76 ERA. He enters the game tonight on a string of 13 1/3 scoreless innings, after starting the 8-0 shutout vs. the Yankees and Pineda last weekend. Porcello also has a strong history against the Pin Stripers, as in 9 starts, he is 5-2 with a 2.44 ERA.
