Our MLB Picks of the Day features two of the worst teams in the bigs. Find out why the White Sox are a good bet to beat the Rays, and why the score will settle south of the over-under in the Cardinals-Giants finale.

Rays vs. White Sox Odds & Prediction

Prior to Saturday, no MLB team has scored fewer runs in their last 30 games then the Rays. Tampa is averaging 3.47 runs on 7.7 hits per game in this stretch. The White Sox, in comparison, are putting up a half run more with 3.97 runs per contest. This series, in fact, is the first since before the All-Star break Chicago has averaged more than their opponent has in this span.

This isn’t the bets news for Rays starter Matt Andriese. The Rays are just 2-12 SU all-time in the right-hander’s road starts when allowing 3 runs or more. Andriese will be making his first start since June 10, activated from the 60-day DL on August 28 following recovery from hip pain.

Rookie starter Lucas Giolito will make his third appearance of the season for the Sox. Manager Rick Renteria praised the 23-year olds “seamless transition” into the bigs from Triple-A Charlotte, where he compiled a 6-10 record with a 4.48 ERA in 24 starts. Cold Tampa hitters will likely struggle in their first look at the 6-foot-6 righty. Pick the Sox at a price (+150) for a rare series win.

Free MLB Pick: Sox (+144)

Best Line at Heritage

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3140221, "sportsbooksIds":[169,238,180,43,999993], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1 }[/]

Cardinals vs. Giants Odds & Prediction

Giants ace Madison Bumgarner is expected to take the mound Sunday following a scratch Thursday due to flu-like symptoms. The former World Series MVP owns a 2.78 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in his last nine outings since returning from the DL on July 15 because of a shoulder injury.

The ‘under’ is 39-17-3 when Bumgarner goes off an underdog in his career. The record is 10-2 at AT&T Park with an average total score of 4.8 runs per game. The southpaw has allowed more than 4 runs twice as a home pup and been supported with as many fewer than two times in the 12 outings.

The young Luke Weaver, meanwhile, takes the pill for St. Louis skipper Mike Matheny. The former first-round pick has made seven appearances (four starts) this season, allowing 2 runs or fewer in all but one. Weaver fanned 10 batters in each of his last two starts, mixing up a full arsenal pitches that consist of a curve, change, cutter, and slider. At Triple-A Memphis this year, the slender right-hander compiled a 10-2 record with a 2.55 ERA in 15 appearances. The future Cardinals mainstay is in form and will challenge Bumgarner throughout. Pick ‘under’ 8 as your best bet.

Free MLB Pick: UNDER 8 (118)

Best Lines Available at Pinny

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":3140221, "sportsbooksIds":[238,169,180,43,999993], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":3 }[/]
