“No Nonsense Friday” was a success as we rolled with the hot teams and went 2-0 with a 2-unit victory included. Now, it’s time to carry the betting momentum over to today’s full slate of MLB games.

Joe C. Record: 137-127 -24.52 Units

The Tampa Bay Rays managed to continue their winning streak as we doubled the stakes as part of Friday's MLB picks on the hot Rays behind the pitching of David Price and the New York Yankees flexed a little muscle at Yankee Stadium, outpowering the tough Toronto Blue Jays and their fearless leader Jose Bautista.

Aces are the theme tonight with pitchers such as Kershaw, Sale, and Gray taking the mound, making the proposition of laying some juice on the road very tempting.

Oakland Athletics (63-39) vs. Texas Rangers (41-62)
Two Teams Going In Different Directions
Sonny Gray (11-3, 2.72) might be the weakest of the 3 pitchers that I mentioned, but he’s certainly in the best situation as he’s a member of the best team in the majors in the Oakland Athletics and they face a Texas Rangers team that has totally fallen apart.

Texas might have gotten the best of Oakland on Friday with a great pitching performance by Jerome Williams, but that was just one game and a complete fluke.

A July Guy
Sonny Gray had started the season off on the wrong foot, but flipped the script in the month of July, pitching nearly flawlessly. Gray was a perfect 4-0 in 4 starts and allowed just 3 earned runs in 28 1/3 innings. Gray is a pitcher that will give the A’s 7 good innings per start and has held opposing hitters to just a .221 batting average this season. We have a complete mismatch in starting pitching in this game as the ineffective Nick Tepesch (3-6, 4.87) gets the start for Texas. Tepesch is 1-6 in his last 7 decisions and hasn’t shown much as of late; advantage Oakland.

Texas is also a one man show with Adrian Beltre while the Athletics are a deep team offensively with the likes of power hitters Brandon Moss and Josh Donaldson. We don’t have to go any further. Oakland should handle their business at Arlington.

Free MLB Pick: Oakland -186 at 5 Dimes -2 Unit Play

Los Angeles Dodgers (57-47) vs. San Francisco Giants (57-46)
Kershaw Time
Even though he get’s a super-tough opponent in the Giants, if I’m going to lose my MLB pick, I’m going to lose with the best pitcher in the game in Clayton Kershaw (11-2, 1.92) and quite frankly, I don’t think that it will happen.

Kershaw is coming off of a 4-3 no-decision to the St. Louis Cardinals in which he didn’t look his best. Despite not “looking his best” he still only allowed just 3 runs and 6 hits in 7 innings. Look for a bounce back performance from Kershaw as he has the stronger offense supporting him.

Yasiel Puig
The superstar outfielder was a monster in yesterday night’s 8-1 destruction of the Giants behind starter Zack Greinke. Puig crushed 1 double and 3 triples in this ball game.

Having  3 triples in a game is a feat that hasn’t been accomplished by another major leaguer in over 100 years as the triple is the most hit to pick up. Look for Puig to be oozing with confidence in this game. Adrian Gonzalez, Dee Gordon, and Matt Kemp are all coming off of solid performances and I expect the Dodgers to play well here knowing that Kershaw is pitching. San Francisco has some decent hitters in Posey, Pence, and Sandoval, but simply can’t compete with L.A. overall in tonight’s matchup.

Free MLB Pick: Dodgers -192 at 5 Dimes
