Our MLB handicapping professional shares his top two MLB underdog betting values for Friday. Join us in reading this revealing article disclosing exactly why he likes these MLB picks.

Houston Astros vs Toronto Blue Jays
The Houston Astros will send young right-hander Joe Musgrove to the mound this evening. This will be just his second career big league start. He was extremely impressive in his MLB debut as a starter against the AL West division leading Texas Rangers. During that outing, he allowed only 1 earned run on 5 hits while striking out 5 and walking none in 7.0 innings of work. Between his one relief appearance, and lone start, Musgrove has compiled a brilliant 0.79 ERA over the course of 11 1/3 innings pitched.

The Astros bats have finally awakened over their last three games. Through that time period, they scored a combined 32 runs and pounded out 47 hits. As a matter of fact, in yesterday’s doubleheader sweep of Minnesota, Houston scored 25 runs, and that equaled a cumulative 25 runs they scored through its previous eleven games.

Houston’s recent offensive success doesn’t bode well for struggling Toronto starter Francisco Liriano. The veteran southpaw has been in horrible form over his last three starts, evidenced by a large 8.16 ERA and mammoth 2.09 WHIP in those outings. Despite a 7 run outburst in their last game, Toronto has vastly underachieved from an offensive standpoint this season. The Blue Jays poor team OPS of .658 throughout its preceding seven games is further proof of just that.

Seattle Mariners vs Oakland Athletics
The Mariners have gone a red-hot 8-1 over their previous nine, and that includes a current six-game win streak. Ariel Miranda makes his second career MLB start tonight for Seattle, and he acquitted himself very well in his big league debut. That’s especially considering he faced an excellent hitting Boston Red Sox team. Miranda allowed just 2 earned runs, struck out 5 while walking just 1, and it was over 6.0 innings pitched.

Oakland’s Sean Mannae has exhibited shaky over his last three starts, and that’s proven by a lofty 1.53 WHIP through that time period. The A’s have been anemic offensively of late, averaging a paltry 2.1 runs scored per game and collecting a brutal .548 team OPS throughout their prior seven contests.

The combination of Seattle playing outstanding baseball, and a sizable disparity in these two teams records, creates a good amount of betting value. That’s exactly the path I’ll be taking when making one of my Friday MLB picks.
