I'm feeling lucky and this might be your lucky day as it's time for our daily MLB Player Betting Props. There are a lot of propositions out there that I think should be advantageous to the bettor. Let's take a look and examine.

Cardinals vs. Pirates

Will Peter Bourjous Record A Hit?: Yes -200...No +160
Bourjous has started to pick up the pace a bit, hitting safely in 3 out of his last 4 games and only getting 1 at-bat in his last game. Bourjous has suited his purpose lately also proving that he can drive in a timely run and the Cardinals can use his services against their arch rival, the Pittsburgh Pirates. Look for Bourjous to pick up at least a hit against Locke or a Pirates reliever and take the value in a small bet.

MLB Pick- Yes +160

Reds vs. Marlins

How Many Strikeouts Will Jose Ferrnandez Record?: Over 6.5 -125...Under 6.5 -105
Fernandez picked up the win along with 6 strikeouts on July 2nd against the San Francisco Giants. It was his first start since the month of May and at the time, his injury was devastating as he has Cy Young potential. This is a pitcher that's capable of striking out 7 batters in any game. Tonight, he gets a hard hitting Cincinnati team at home. I'm expecting him to pitch well at home despite the Marlins being shorthanded. Take the over for this prop.

MLB Pick- Over 6.5 -125

Astros vs. Indians

Will Evan Gattis Record A Hit?: Yes -175...No -145
I don't understand this prop at all. Even though Gattis is known more for his power than ability to get on base, he's on a 9 game hitting streak, going 13 for 35 with 2 HR and 7 RBI. He's tearing the cover off of the ball. MLB odds makers are possibly looking for every bettor to jump on the yes option because the hitting streak will eventually come to an end. I'm taking the bait. The odds are desirable and Gattis is feeling it. Take the yes and make this one of your bigger bets.

MLB Pick- Yes -175 *

Tigers vs. Twins

Will Joe Mauer Record A Hit?: Yes -225...No +185
Mauer is a very perplexing player. He's had batting titles and although he looks like the 2nd coming off Will Clark, I don't think that he's attained that status.

He's a big player in stature with very little power. He's more of a poor man's Buster Posey and the catching position has taken it's toll on him. He's an overrated baseball player. With all of that said, Mauer has been on a tear of his own, going 12 of 29 with 2 HR and 3 RBI in his last 7 games. He's currently on a 7 game hitting streak and will face David Price. There's lot's of juice to lay, but you just have to as Mauer makes good contact.

MLB Pick- Yes -225

Phillies vs. Dodgers

Total Strikeouts For Kyle Kendrick: Over 3.5 -EV...Under 3.5 -130
It appears that odds makers are really trying to tempt bettors into taking unanimous picks today and waiting for the bottom to drop out. Kendrick is playing a weak Philadelphia Phillies team (his old team) and has struck out 4 or more batters in 5 out of his last 6 games. Even at Coors Field, this is an over to me.

MLB Pick- Over 3.5 EV
