Taking a quick glance at this split MLB schedule for Thursday, we find a ton of opportunity to make a profit as the weekend matchups are just around the corner. Here are the best player betting props for the night session of the MLB slate of games.
Cardinals vs. Marlins: Total Strikeouts For Lance Lynn
Over 5.5 -140
Under 5.5 +110
Lynn gets a complicated matchup against a Miami Marlins team which contains some stars such as Giancarlo Stanton and Dee Gordon, but the Marlins are a losing ball club; losers of their last 3 games. The Cardinals come into this game having won 3 straight and will be playing in a pitcher friendly stadium. This bodes well for Lynn. Although Lynn has struck out a batter per inning, he's went under this prop total 4 consecutive times despite pitching well. I'm going to tail the MLB odds here as I think Lynn comes out strong tonight in the Sunshine State.
MLB Pick- Over 5.5 -140
Cardinals vs. Marlins: Will Ichiro Suzuki Record a Hit?
Once known as the best singles hitter in the game with his slap hits, Ichiro Suzuki has slowed down due to father time as he looks to go for 3000 hits in the United States. Suzuki is 0 for his last 8 at bats as he hasn't seen much playing time as of late and rust could be a factor. The odds are very appealing and I think that Ichiro's funk continues for a bit longer. Take the no option with the appealing price.
MLB Pick- No +160
Cardinals vs. Marlins: Most Hits, Runs, and RBI's
Dee Gordon -115
Kolten Wong -115
At one point, this would be a slam dunk in favor of Dee Gordon, but Wong, who is coming off of a home run yesterday, has come on strong as of late. The difference in this prop is that Wong can hit for power and Dee Gordon is purely a hitter that picks up hits and steals. Take the power as it can force runs batted in and extra base hits enable more scoring. This is a tough prop as Gordon had been a stud all season, but Wong is the pick.
MLB Pick- Kolten Wong -115 at Bovada
Yankees vs. Astros: Total Strikeouts For Dallas Keuchel
Over 5.5 - EV
Under 5.5 -130
I had mentioned in my other article that Keuchel has had an All-Star season, but has gotten a bit tired in his last two outings as he lost his last start and didn't go past 6 innings in either outing despite being a beast all season long. Tonight, he faces a Yankees lineup that is on fire. I'm not interested in past performances. I think that he's possibly out of gas temporarily. This will attribute to an under.
MLB Pick- Under 5.5 -130
Yankees vs. Astros: Will Carlos Beltran Record a Hit?
A long time ago, Beltran used to be a standout for the Astros as he put on the performance of a lifetime in the playoffs. Players don't forget feats like that.
Nowadays, Beltran has been inconsistent, but has picked up the pace since earlier in the season. Clearly, this is a player past his prime. In his last 4 games, Beltran is 7 for 18 with 4 doubles. However, he was held hitless in his last game. Look for Beltran to bounce back even against a tough pitcher such as Dallas Keuchel. He will also have an opportunity to face the Astros bullpen. I expect Carlos to pick up at least 1 hit.
MLB Pick- Yes -175
