It's one handicapper's opinion, but player props give the bettor, who is selective, a decisive edge. Today, we'll be looking at the various player props offered as we look to get a head start going into the 4th of July weekend. God Bless America and God Bless these picks for the betting public.

Giants vs. Nationals: Most Hits, Runs, and RBI's
Buster Posey -115
Bryce Harper -115
Posey is getting a lot of respect here due to his year in, year out consistency as he faces Bryce Harper, who is having an MVP-like season. Harper could put a quick end to this prop as he contains much more power than Posey, but Posey has been more consistent for a longer period of time.

Buster Posey has been on fire, hitting .480 with 2 HR and 11 in his last 7 days alone while Bryce Harper is on a 5-game hitting streak, but hasn't displayed power lately. Posey's late run can't be denied.

MLB Pick- Buster Posey -115

Giants vs. Nationals: Total Strikeouts For Gio Gonzalez
Over 5.5 +125
Under 5.5 -155
I can almost promise that Gio won't strikeout Posey as he hasn't pitched since June 21st. In that outing, he was dominant, allowing just 4 hits in 7 innings. When he was actively playing, his strikeout total was far from overwhelming and the MLB odds indicate this. Under is the play as Gonzalez could also be on a pitch count which would limit his attempts at a K.

MLB Pick- Under 5.5 -155

Indians vs. Pirates: Will Josh Harrison Record a Hit?
Yes -210
No +170
I don't like the odds on this as Harrison has recorded a hit in his last 2 games and 5 out of his last 7 games, but he hasn't been nearly the player that he was last season. Last season, he was the best player on his team and that was a team that included Andrew McCutchen. This season, his power numbers are down and there's been a dropoff in his all around play. I'm going to make a small bet and fade the trend, taking the "no" option.

MLB Pick- No +170

Blue Jays vs. Tigers: Will J.D. Martinez Record a Hit?
Yes -210
No -170
This prop baffles me as Martinez has been dominant. He's 7 for his last 14 at-bats and has hit safely in 6 out of his last 7 games. Martinez has been the 2nd best player on the Tigers and I don't think it matters who he faces. In this case, he faces Drew Hutchinson at home. Hutchinson is known for getting bounced around on the road. I would place a big bet on the "yes" option. Hutchinson plays well at home, but his ERA on the road is in excess of 8.00.

MLB Pick- Yes -210

Brewers vs. Reds: Total Strikeouts For Mike Fiers
Over 5 -135
Under 5 +105
The Mike Fiers props are usually a half point higher, but being that he hasn't been striking out as many batters lately, it's been lowered. You can see where we're going with this.

In his last 3 games, Fiers has struck out 13 batters and in this game he's on the road against a Cincinnati Reds team, facing the likes of Brandon Phillips, Todd Frazier, Joey Votto, and even Jay Bruce. Take the under as this one should be close, but the under prevails.

MLB Pick- Under 5 +105 at Bovada
