Arizona took Game 1 of this series Friday night 5-1, ending a six-game losing streak and shooting down our free MLB pick. We'll shoot for a better result on Saturday night's Game 2 (8:10 pm ET).

Saturday's Betting Odds
As of early Saturday morning the best price we could find on Arizona with Vidal Nuno was the +105 offered at BetOnline, while San Diego and Andrew Cashner could be gotten at -107 at Pinnacle. And most books were listing the total at 7.5 runs, although there were some eights out there.

Friday Re-Hash
The Diamondbacks scored three times in the first inning and never looked back, getting a very quality start from Josh Collmenter on their way to a 5-1 victory. Arizona won as a -115 post-time favorite, and the game played 'under' its total of 8.5 runs.

Arizona has now taken seven of ten games from San Diego this season.

Saturday's Starters
Nuno (2-8, 4.79) is 7/22 on quality starts this year, 4/8 since joining Arizona in that trade with the Yankees. Last time out he held Washington to two runs through seven innings, and just before that he held Cleveland to two runs through 5 2/3 innings.

For the season Nuno has pitched 124 innings, allowed 127 hits, including 21 homers, walked 36 and struck out 98. But Arizona is 0-8 in Nuno's starts, with the totals going 3-5.

This will be Nuno's first-ever start against San Diego.

Cashner (2-6, 2.36) will come off the DL (sore shoulder) to make his first appearance since June 18. On the season he's 9/12 on quality starts, having allowed 69 hits in 76 innings, walked 22 and struck out 59.

San Diego is 6-6 in Cashner's starts this year, with the totals leaning toward the 'unders' by a 9-3 margin. The Padres have been shut out in four of Cashner's starts.

Since the beginning of last season Cashner has started three times against the D'Backs, allowing nine ER and 17 hits through 18 innings; the Padres went 2-1 in those games.

Free Pick for Saturday
We're not sure who's going to win this game, but with Cashner coming back, and with the Padres facing Nuno for the first time, our guess is it will be low-scoring. So we'll go with the 'under' eight runs, at the -118 offered at 5Dimes, for our free MLB pick for Saturday.
