Both games in the Mets vs. Dodgers series have gone over the betting total. What might that have to do with our free MLB pick on Sunday's series finale (4:10 pm ET)?

LA has taken the first two games of this series, and both games have played 'over' on the totals. In fact, even though Dodger Stadium is known as a pitchers' park, totals have skewed toward the 'overs' this year by a 37-24 margin in Dodger home games.

Sunday's Betting Odds
As of early Sunday AM the best line we could find on LA with Kevin Correia was the -110 offered at 5Dimes, while New York and Bartolo Colon could be gotten at +110 at several outlets, including SBR Sportsbook. And most shops were listing the total at 7.5 runs.

Saturday Re-Hash
New York opened the scoring Saturday night with a three-spot in the fourth, but LA answered back with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and three in the fifth, then added two more in the seventh on its way to a 7-4 victory. Dodgers starter Zack Greinke got the win, allowing three ER through seven innings, and Adrian Gonzalez knocked in five runs.

LA won as a -160 favorite, and the game went 'over' its total of 6.5 runs on Gonzalez' three-run homer in the fifth.

Sunday's Starters
Correia (7-13, 4.87) is 12/25 on quality starts this season, one-for-two since joining the Dodgers a couple weeks ago. Last time out he gave up four runs and eight hits in five innings against San Diego, and just before that he held Atlanta to one run through six innings. With help from some nice run support he's picked up wins in his first two starts for LA. For the season Correia has given up more hits, 169, than innings pitched, 140, walked 34 and struck out just 72. This will be Correia's first start against the Mets since September of 2012, when he was with Pittsburgh.

Colon (11-10, 3.85) is 15/24 on quality starts this year, and four for his last five. Eleven days ago he held Washington to one ER through seven innings, and just before that he held Philly to one run through eight frames. Colon missed his most recent start while dealing with a family situation. On the season Colon has allowed 165 hits, including 21 homers, in 161 innings, walked just 21 and struck out 125. New York is 13-11 in Colon's starts, with the totals going 13-10. This will be Colon's first start against the Dodgers since 2006, when he was with the Angels.

Free Pick for Sunday
The first two games of this series have gone 'over' the totals, and we like that line of thinking for today. So we'll take the 'over' 7.5 runs, at the -105 offered at 5Dimes, for our free MLB pick on Sunday's series finale.
