Washington handed Philly its sixth straight loss Friday night, and made this handicapper happy by covering against the run line. Do we ride the Nats for Game 3 Saturday afternoon?

Phillies-Nats Game 2 Recap
Washington took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first Friday night on a Bryce Harper homer and never looked back, cruising to a 7-2 victory behind a quality start from newcomer Max Scherzer. The Nats won as –240 post-time favorites on the betting line (the largest line we've seen this season), and to our delight covered on the run line. Also, Friday's game played OVER its total of seven runs.

Scherzer gave up one run and four hits through eight innings, and through his first three starts for his new team has allowed just two earned runs through 21 2/3 innings.

Washington has now scored 29 runs over its last four games.

Philly, meanwhile, has scored a total of just 26 runs through its first 11 games. It's also 0-5 on the road so far.

Game 3 Betting Odds
As of early Saturday morning the best line we could find on the MLB odds for Washington with Jordan Zimmerman was the -186 offered at BetOnline, while Philly and Aaron Harang could be gotten at +177 at 5Dimes.

The Nats could also be found at +120 giving the run and a half on the run line at Pinnacle.

And the total on today's game sat at seven runs.

Here's a great MLB pick on the money line for Red Sox/Orioles

Saturday's Starters
Zimmerman will be making his third start of this season; ten days ago he held the Mets to one run and five hits through six innings of a 2-1 Washington victory, but Monday he got rocked in Boston for seven ER and nine hits in less than three innings of a 9-4 Nats loss. So Zimmy will be looking for a bounce-back effort Saturday.

Last year Zimmerman went 21-for-32 on quality starts; Washington went 23-9 in those games.

Zimmerman started three times against Philly last year, allowing four ER and 16 hits through 18 1/3 innings. The Nats won two of those games.

Harang will be making his third start of this season for his new team. Ten days ago he threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings against Boston, allowing just two hits and striking out eight in a 4-2 Philly victory. Then Monday he limited the Mets to one run and four hits through six innings, although the Phillies lost that game 2-0. So Harang is two-for-two on quality starts this season, after going 24-for-33 on QS last year, pitching for Atlanta.

Also, both of Harang's starts this year have played UNDER the totals, after trending UNDER last year by an 18-14 margin.

Last season, pitching for the Braves Harang started four times against Washington, allowing just four ER and 23 hits through 27 innings. Somehow, Atlanta only managed to split those two games.

Injury Update
Washington IF Yunel Escobar, who owns a .362 OBP at the moment, left Friday's game with a groin injury; his status for Saturday is uncertain.

Phillies-Nats Game 3 Pick
We expect a rebound effort from Zimmerman, but his Nats might have their hands full with Harang, who was tough on them last year. So we're thinking runs might be hard to come by today; take the under with your MLB Picks.
