Boston took Game 1 of this series Friday night 4-2, handing LA a fourth-straight loss and ruining our free MLB pick for the day. We look for betting redemption on Game 2 of this series Saturday evening (9:05 pm ET).

Saturday's Betting Odds
As of Saturday morning LA and Garrett Richards were chalked at around -200 over Boston and Clay Buchholz, with a total of eight runs. The Angels could also be found at around +110 giving the run and a half on the run line.

Friday Re-Hash
Boston got a quality start from Allen Webster, a solo homer from Mike Napoli, two RBI from newcomer Yoenis Cespedes and 2 1/3 scoreless innings from the bullpen for a 4-2 victory. The Sox won as +170 underdogs on Saturday's MLB betting line, and the game stayed 'under' its total of 8.5 runs.

We liked LA Friday and played the Angels on the run line at a price of +110 for our free MLB betting pick. So while we lost our pick, we saved ourselves $85 by playing the alternative spread.

LA has scored a total of seven runs over its last four games.

Saturday's Starters
Richards (12-4, 2.58) is rather quietly pitching himself into contention for the AL Cy Young Award. He's 16/23 on quality starts this year, and coming off his best performance of the season, after tossing a complete-game, five-hit shutout against the Dodgers last Monday.

On the season Richards has allowed just 109 hits in 153 innings, while compiling a K/BB ratio of 152/48. LA is 16-7 in games Richards has started, with the totals skewing toward the 'unders' by a 14-7 margin.

This will be Richards' first-ever start against Boston.

Buchholz (5-7, 6.20) is just 6/18 on quality starts this year, and 0 for his last four. Most recently he got knocked about for seven runs in five innings by the Yankees, and over his last four starts he's been tagged for 22 ER in 22 innings.

For the season Bucky has allowed 126 hits in 102 innings, walked 38 and struck out 75. The Sox are 7-11 in games Buchholz has started, with the totals tilting toward the 'overs' 12-5.

Buchholz started once last year against the Angels, allowing two runs in 6 2/3 innings of a 7-2 Boston victory.

Free Pick for Saturday
We missed with the Angels on the run line Friday night, but we'll jump back on that horse for today. So we'll take LA on the run line, at the +112 offered at Pinnacle, for Saturday's free MLB pick.
