The Milwaukee Brewers have absolutely owned the Pittsburgh Pirates at Miller Park in recent years, which will lead to a series-opening victory Friday night.

Getting The Band Back Together
Pittsburgh has been limited by injuries in recent weeks, as it has lost 59 games due to members of its regular starting lineup being placed on the disabled list, but those players are back on the field in hopes of making a run at the NL Central division.

The Pirates snapped a seven-game losing streak in picking up a 3-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves as -116 home favorites Wednesday, which can’t be ignored when looking over the MLB odds, while going UNDER the betting total for the first time in six contests.

MLB handicappers will find that the franchise is 2-9 as road underdogs of +125 to +150 during the 2014 campaign.

Still in Control
Milwaukee has sat atop the National League Central division every day since April 5, as it looks to bounce back from a 9-5 defeat to the Toronto Blue Jays as -119 home favorites Wednesday, while going OVER the betting total for the fourth time in six affairs.

The Brewers are a dominating 86-39 against the Pirates since 2007, which is important to consider when making your MLB betting predictions, especially since they’ve proven victorious in 10 of 13 meetings this year.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the club is 48-39 as favorites of -125 to -150 when playing at Miller Park.

Pirates starting pitcher Jeff Locke (4-3, 3.73 ERA) didn’t earn a decision in a 4-3 setback on the road to the Washington Nationals last time out, as he scattered four hits over 5.2 shutout innings.

The left-hander is 1-2 with a 3.66 ERA in six road appearances—serving up seven home runs in 39.1 combined frames.

In five lifetime efforts against the Brewers, Locke has produced a 1-2 record and 4.55 ERA.

Brewers starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo (8-6, 3.32 ERA) returns home after winning back-to-back road efforts, including a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers last Saturday—giving up a single run and six hits over eight strong innings.

The right-hander is 2-4 with a 4.06 ERA in 13 home games, as he’s surrendered 10 round trippers in 77.2 combined frames.

In 24 career games (23 starts) versus the Pirates, Gallardo has registered a 12-4 record and 2.57 ERA, including a 1-0 mark and 2.49 ERA in four outings in 2014.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Brewers as one of their MLB picks, as the Pirates are 2-7 in Locke’s last nine trips to the mound against teams with a winning record.
