The San Diego Padres lost 8-1 and 8-3 to the Los Angeles Dodgers over the past two days. Will Yu Darvish help to salvage a win in the series? Here are our Padres-Dodgers Same Game Parlay picks for Sunday night.

The Padres have scuffled thus far during the critical weekend series against the NL West-leading Dodgers, losing two straight. Can the Friars bounce back in prime time?

Here are my same-game parlay picks for the Padres-Dodgers Sunday Night Baseball matchup (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Same Game Parlay Predictions for Giants vs. Dodgers

First-half result (five innings): Padres (+145)

Tyler Anderson is producing a great season for the Dodgers. However, he’s coming off an outing that causes us to question how sharp Anderson will be against a lineup with several batters who have seen him well.

Brandon Drury, Ha-Seong Kim, Austin Nola, and Jorge Alfaro all boast significant numbers against Anderson. Sprinkle in guys like Juan Soto and Manny Machado, who are capable of busting loose at any time, and I like the Friars' chances to start hot offensively on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Darvish just mostly needs to take care of Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman. The rest of the Dodgers have been struggling against San Diego’s veteran.

Of the Dodgers' eight runs on Saturday, six came in the fifth inning or later. So let's isolate this wager to the first five innings to avoid another late rally, and the most prolific comeback kids in baseball burning us.

Over 9 (-106)

This total has been reached in 11 of the Dodgers' past 12 games. The team's lineup simply refuses to go quietly as the game wears on, which leads to crooked numbers. The Dodgers are on an impressive steak, and even Darvish is susceptible to coughing up a few runs against them.

San Diego’s pitching over the past week has been suspect compared to the staff's season-long performance. The Dodgers are looking to continue applying the same pressure as they have been through the first two games of this series.

It also feels like a good spot for the Padres’ offense to contribute and help the Over cash. After walking four batters and surrendering a season-high five runs against the San Francisco Giants in his worst outing since early May, Anderson has shown he’s hittable in this NL West matchup.

These teams have combined for 20 runs over just two games. Another 10 seems plausible on Sunday.

Anderson Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-164)

Anderson has fallen short of this strikeout total in six of his last eight starts. He hasn't been a reliable strikeout pitcher throughout his career. Although he’s producing a career-best ERA in 2022 (2.89), this campaign hasn't been different on the punchout front.

Anderson averages just 7.3 K/9. Considering his struggles during the veteran's last start, he won't suddenly ascend to post an impressive strikeout total on Sunday.

Combined Odds: First Half Result: Padres (+145) + Over 9 (-106) + Anderson Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-164) = +490
