The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers kick off a three-game series with a pitcher’s duel on Friday night. Here are our same-game parlay picks for Padres-Dodgers.
San Diego was expected to at least somewhat compete with the Dodgers this year, but the Padres find themselves fighting for a wild-card spot instead. They’ve turned it a round a bit since early August after a sweep in San Francisco to give them a 7-3 record in their last 10 games.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers have already won 90 games and are cruising to the playoffs. They return home after rare back-to-back losses in New York against the Mets, including a 5-3 defeat last night.
Here are my same-game parlay picks for Friday's contest between the Padres and Dodgers (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook).

Padres (+140)
The Padres had the benefit of an off-day on Thursday while the Dodgers played a hard-fought game across the country in New York. San Diego is 9-3 when playing with a day off this season and may have turned a corner with its recent play.
Yu Darvish has largely been great for the Padres. He’s gone at least six innings in 22 of his 24 starts this season (5 2/3 on May 13 and 1 2/3 on April 12). He’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in 19 of those stars, including two or fewer in 13 outings - with nine starts of one earned run or less.
The Dodgers should probably be favored in this game, but not to the extent that they are.

Darvish Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-134)
This line feels a tad low for Darvish. He’s gone Over 5.5 strikeouts in three straight games and 10 of his last 11, including a 10-strikeout performance in Los Angeles. Granted, his one miss was a five-strikeout game in L.A., as well.
Still, this is a mark that Darvish has hit in 15 of 24 games this season. Dating back to the start of last season, Darvish has had six-plus strikeouts in seven of eight starts against the Dodgers, including two of three this year.
May Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-148)
Dustin May has made only two starts this season but he has 13 strikeouts in 11 innings. That’s about par for the course for May, who has 124 strikeouts in 124 2/3 IP in his career. That includes 35 strikeouts in 36 1/3 IP against the Padres.
In recent games, the Padres struck out seven times against Logan Webb and seven times against Jonathan Heasley, as well as six times against Cal Quantrill. That’s three straight games against right-handed starters.
I’m expecting a lot of strikeouts in a pitcher’s duel in L.A. on Friday night.
