Our excellent sports handicapper provides a look at the Overnight MLB Betting odds for two baseball games taking place on Tuesday, May 3. Get the advantage here!

Boston Red Sox vs. Chicago White Sox
Jose Quintana is right there behind Chris Sale as the most effective starter in the Chicago White Sox rotation and has been a big part of their strong 18-8 start to the season and the White Sox are the top team in MLB in profitability so far in 2016 with over +11 units of profit for their backers. Quintana has a dominant 1.47 ERA allowing 5 earned runs in 30.2 innings of work to go along with just 8 walks and a whopping 32 strikeouts. Chicago is 4-1 in his 5 starts this season and in his lone previous outing here at the Cell in Chicago he pitched 7 innings of shutout baseball against the Texas Rangers.

Quintana is a ‘bet on’ pitcher all the way right now and it’s worth noting Boston is hitting just .196 and averaging 2.51 runs per game against lefties. Steven Wright will get the start here for Boston and the knuckleballer has gotten off to his own strong start to the season entering Tuesday’s game with a 1.37 ERA but the Red Sox are just 2-2 in his 4 starts largely because Wright is not a frequent candidate to pitch deep into games and we’ve seen the Boston middle relief portion of their bullpen be vulnerable to allow late runs.

The White Sox have the best bullpen in baseball right now with a MLB best 1.60 ERA so far this season which should give them a solid chance to win this game if it is still close in the latter stages. Chicago is reasonably priced at -132 as a home favorite at Heritage in this game and that is a price worth laying on the home team to pick up the win.

MLB Pick: Chicago -132

LA Dodgers vs. Tampa Bay Rays
The LA Dodgers head out on the road for some Interleague Baseball as they take on the Tampa Bay Rays starting on Tuesday night. Scott Kazmir and Matt Moore will duel in a battle of southpaws in the series opener. Kazmir is still a ‘bet against’ pitcher for me that I do not trust even though he is coming off a solid outing where he allowed 2 runs in 6 innings against Miami. He has been hit hard in each of his last two road starts at San Francisco and Colorado yielding 10 runs in 9 innings over those outings and the LA Dodgers have not been winning games with Kazmir on the mound just 1-4 in his 5 starts this season.

The Rays lineup has been spotty but they have matched up better against lefties this season hitting for a better average and nearly 2 more runs per game facing southpaws than right-handers. On the flip side, Matt Moore continues to impress early in the season for the Rays. He has been especially strong here at Tropicana Field with a 3.20 ERA in 4 home starts with Tampa Bay registering a 3-1 record in those games and the Rays are 5-1 in Moore’s last 6 home starts dating back to last season.

LA is not playing great baseball at the moment limping into this series with a 1-6 mark in their last 7 games. Tampa Bay is listed as a small home favorite on the MLB odds boards with -110 currently available at Heritage on the Rays and I will side with the Rays to win this game on Tuesday night.
