The Toronto Blue Jays have lost five of seven overall game but won a previous meeting with Baltimore this season with the same pitching matchup as tonight. Will they cash as MLB picks?

The Baltimore Orioles Can Win Because…
Norris will likely pitch better against the Jays this time around. Yes, these two teams squared off and these two pitchers squared off earlier in the year and Norris was battered for eight runs and seven in just over three innings of work. The Jays ended up winning that game 12-5. However, Norris has previously generated a pretty good track record against Baltimore, going 4-0 with a 2.36 ERA against them. There’s a good chance that the first meeting this season was an aberration and he’ll get back to pitching the way we have seen him pitch versus Toronto on Tuesday.

And the same is basically true for Mark Buehrle and the Jays, only opposite. Buehrle pitched six innings in the first meeting with Baltimore this season while giving up just two earned runs. However, that’s a big aberration from how he normally performs against them as he was previously 1-5 with a 6.25 ERA against the Orioles as a member of the Jays. That means that things should balance out on Tuesday. Look for things to go back to normal and the Orioles to have the edge. That’s why they’re the better choice for your MLB picks.

The Toronto Blue Jays Can Win Because…
It’s not as if there’s a huge difference between these teams. The Jays enter the day 6-7 while the Orioles are 7-6. This is about as even as it gets. And the Jays already took two of three from Baltimore earlier in the year, including the previous Norris-Buehrle matchup, so they’ll be comfortable in this spot. Their previous meeting with the Orioles was in Baltimore, so this time should be easier since they have the home-field advantage.

While Buehrle has been up and down against the O’s while pitching with Toronto, he’s been pretty solid against them for his career. He has a lifetime 3.68 ERA against them, so he’s likely to provide a quality start here.

The Jays lineup isn’t producing as Edwin Encarnacion has gone 10 games without a home run and he’s hitting just .132 in that span. Meanwhile, Jose Bautista has just three hits in his last 27 at-bats. On top of that, the Jays don’t have much of an advantage playing at home where they have lost five of seven this year.

With the Orioles being posted as a road dog on the MLB Odds and them appearing to have the better pitching matchup, they’re worth a shot here. Look for them to keep the Jays in a funk while getting the win and cash as the underdog.
