The Orioles have struggled recently with two wins in their last eight games. They’ll need to pick it up to avoid losing more ground in the AL wild-card race.
The Nationals have been out of it for quite some time and just got swept by the Philadelphia Phillies. They’re down to 49-92 on the season.

The Orioles are between -155 (DraftKings) and -162 (Unibet) after opening at -164 despite receiving a large majority of the tickets and handle. The Nationals are as high as +138 (Unibet).
The total opened at 9 but has dropped down to 8.5 across the board.

Dean Kremer (6-5, 3.23 ERA, 1.23 WHIP) vs. Cory Abbott (0-2, 4.22 ERA ,1.19 WHIP)
Dean Kremer has been a pleasant surprise for the Orioles, who have gone 11-5 in his 16 starts. He’s allowed two runs or fewer in five straight (and six of seven) starts.
Cory Abbott has struggled as a starter with a 5.09 ERA and 1.39 WHIP. The Nationals have lost his last four starts after beating the New York Mets on Aug. 2.

Orioles vs. Nationals Moneyline Pick
Orioles (-155) ★★★★
The O’s may have struggled recently but that was against better teams than Washington. Baltimore is 38-28 against teams with a losing record, including 17-9 in the second half. Given that and Kremer’s performance this season, this line seems low even at -155.
On the other hand, the Nats are 26-58 against winning teams (14-29 in the second half). They’ve lost five of their last six games and have been slightly worse at home (22-47) than on the road (27-45).
Orioles vs. Nationals O/U Pick
Under 8.5 (-108) ★★★★
Kremer has been an Under machine this season. The Under is 12-4 overall and has hit in each of his last six starts. The Orioles' offense hasn’t been too hot recently and while they should get a handful of runs against the Nats, it shouldn’t be enough to get to the Over.
Speaking of the Nats, they scored five runs in each of their last two games, but I don’t expect that to continue. The Under is 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams.

We’re riding Kremer hard, but for good reason. He’s gone Over 15.5 outs in each of his last seven starts and eight of his last nine. On the season, he’s hit this mark in 11 of 17 starts (implied odds around -180).
Kremer recently went at least six innings in Houston and Toronto. I don’t see why he won’t do the same against a lackluster Nationals offense.
