The white hot Red Sox have been knocking off divisional rivals recently and will look to take the second game of this four-game set in Baltimore. Let’s review the MLB odds and cash a winner.

We added to our impressive record on Sunday afternoon with another winner in our MLB picks when the Kansas City Royals throttled the hopelessly fading Chicago White Sox by the score of 10-3. After taking Monday off to stay fresh, we are back at it tonight with the juggernaut Boston Red Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Let’s see if the O’s can stop the BoSox freight train as we peruse the MLB odds in search of adding to our ever-expanding bankroll.

Boston Red Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles
Boston took a critical four-game set with the Yankees at Fenway and then delivered their fifth straight victory with a 5-2 win over the Orioles last night. The Red Sox finally have the pitching catching up to their hitting and the results have been spectacular. Consider for a moment that Boston boasts a potential Cy Young Award winner in Rick Porcello (21-4, 3.08, 0.98), an MVP candidate in Mookie Betts (.314, 31 HR’s, 108 RBI and 24 stolen bases) and has the AL East title in their grasp. It has been an incomparable worst to the first campaign for a team that did exactly this a few years ago and won a World Championship in the process.

It’s hard to bet against the Red Sox with the mojo they have going into the homestretch but the Orioles are no slouches and realize that though a division title may be a bit optimistic at this point, they are poised to cop one of the two wildcard berths. I also like the pitching matchup for Baltimore tonight.

The Orioles will send Kevin Gausman (8-10, 3.43, 1.26) to the mound who has been a beast at home with a 6-1 mark and a 2.27 ERA in his 11 starts. Baltimore is 10-3 at home with Gausman chucking and he silenced these same Boston Red Sox in his last start in which he tossed eight innings of shutout ball leading to a 1-0 victory.

The same cannot be said of Boston’s Eduardo Rodriguez (2-7, 4.98, 1.34) who has been enigmatic this season. He had been pitching better recently until he was stung for four runs on eight hits in only two-plus innings in his last start against the Yankees. I am not taking any chances with this kid who may have a ferocious offense to back him but has been prone to getting torched early. Let’s go with the home favorites here.
